Lindsay’s luck runs out
May 25, 2010
Lindsay Lohan finally made it to court yesterday and things didn’t go her way. Judge Marsha Revel not only assigned her to wear an alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet, she also told her she might have to postpone going to Texas to film as Lindsay had hoped because she must submit to weekly random drug tests and classes in LA — or else she will face going to jail for violating the probation terms from her 2007 DUI. “I’m happy they took more constraints to keep Lindsay in line. It’s one step in the right direction,” her dad, Michael Lohan told The Early Show this morning. He blamed prescription medication for his daughter’s problems, but commended the court for getting her into rehab, which will help her more than jail. “I think it’s eating her up on an emotional level and a physical level,” he added.
It was a jarring end to Lindsay’s chaotic week, in which she partied in Cannes while missing her last hearing because she claimed she lost her passport. But the judge wasn’t buying any of her excuses, ordering Lindsay to provide proof that she bought a plane ticket to return home in time and even asking if she went to her uncle’s funeral after Lindsay’s lawyer tried to blame her reaction to his death for one missed class. The answer? No. And according to reports, she also never showed a plane ticket, nor does she even have a movie coming up in which she’s required to film in Texas! Lindsay is due back in court on July 6. If she doesn’t comply with the terms of her probation, she could go to jail for up to a year.
