A former Food Network star has been arrested for cooking up a murder scheme. Chef Juan-Carlos Cruz, who hosted Calorie Commando on the popular culinary channel for two years, was taken into custody on May 13 for solicitation to commit murder after Santa Monica police unveiled his attempt to hire homeless men to kill an unidentified person. The troubled cook, married to high school sweetheart Jennifer Campbell, is being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on $5 million bail.
