Mario Lopez has announced that he and Courtney Mazza — his longtime girlfriend and mother of his 15-month-old daughter, Gia — are engaged! The Extra host popped the question over the New Year’s holiday weekend in Ixtapa, Mexico. But right before he did, In Touch was at the Big Bang New Year’s Eve party on December 31 in Hollywood and talked exclusively with Mario on the red carpet about his hopes for the future.

“I’m looking forward to staying busy [in 2012] and continuing to work hard on the shows that I’m blessed to work on, and hopefully adding to the family. Hopefully!” As for adding to the family, Mario wants more, but doesn’t see a Mario Jr. in his future anytime soon. “I don’t care as long as the baby’s healthy, but with my luck I will probably have all girls!” Mario and Courtney headed into the party and spent the night sipping cocktails and partying with friends while Cobra Starship lit up the stage.

A source tells In Touch that when the countdown to midnight began, Mario got onstage with Courtney, looked at her and said, “I love you,” and the pair shared a passionate kiss as the clock struck 12. Little did she know he was about to propose later that weekend in Mexico! Congratulations to the happy — and very in love — couple!
