David Boreanaz’s cheating confession: Was it blackmail?

If it seemed odd that David Boreanaz recently made a public confession to cheating on his wife, Jaime Bergman, it may be because he was trying to beat Gloria Allred, the lawyer who is representing his alleged mistress, to the punch. “On April 23, the woman left a very threatening message that she was going to the media, that my client had not given her enough money,” Boreanaz’s lawyer, Marty Singer said, adding that when he later spoke to Allred, he learned that the woman wanted a six figure sum to keep quiet. But Allred, who represented Tiger Woods‘ mistress Rachel Uchitel and an unnamed woman who claimed to have had an affair with Jesse James, insists that her client was contacted by the Bones star’s team first. “We discussed the possible resolution of my client’s legal claims against Mr. Boreanaz by mediation,” said Allred in a statement. “My client has not told her story to the press, but now that Mr. Boreanaz is attacking her, she has decided to tell the story of their relationship so that the truth will come out.”
David, 40, has been married to Jaime, 34, since 2001. They have two kids: Jaden, 8, and Bardot, 8 months.
