Upon winning American Idol last night, Phillip Phillips dissolved into tears and hugged his parents. It was a beautiful, pure moment of happiness.

But, moments prior to that celebration, Jessica Sanchez treated viewers to a lovely moment herself: expressing true pride and satisfaction when her opponent’s name was called.

“I really think that Phillip deserves to win and I’m so happy for him,” Sanchez told reporters after all was said and done, adding of Phillip: “He has his funny side and his humble side and he’s just an amazing, original artist.”

The same is true for Sanchez, who may have lost, but who was involved in what most consider the best performance of the evening: a duet with Jennifer Holliday on “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” Watch, be amazed and wish this runner-up luck now:

The Dark Knight Rises, The Twilight Saga will see your new TV spots and raise you a trio of exciting posters for Breaking Dawn Part 2.

The film comes out on November 16, 2012, which is clearly stated on all three photos – but we understand if you miss those numbers, considering the faces also featured below: Those of Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

We’re still a couple months away from major promotional efforts revving up in honor of this final installment, but Summit Entertainment has at least unveiled a teaser Breaking Dawn trailer that depicts Bella as a vampire.

Look for the cast to be on hand this July at San Diego Comic-Con and for THG to be live with a full report. Until then, take comfort in the simple tagline on these posters.

He’s taken out the Penguin and The Joker (twice!), but will Batman be able to do away with The Avengers?

That’s what many film fans are now wondering, as they anticipate the July 20 release of The Dark Knight Rises and wonder whether it can out-earn the first official blockbuster of the summer movie season.

If not, it certainly won’t be for a lack of promotion. New Dark Knight Rises posters hit the Web this week, and now a pair of fresh TV spots are making the rounds. Aside from Christian Bale, of course, they gives us a look at Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.

When you’re the most powerful and famous person on Earth, every photo gives way to the next in a matter of hours if not minutes. Except this one.

By popular demand, it’s remained on display at his office since 2009.

An “aw”-inducing photo hangs in the White House’s West Wing showing President Obama leaning over to allow a 5-year-old boy to touch his hair.

The New York Times reveals the back story that led to the picture:

The boy in the picture is Jacob Philadelphia of Columbia, Md.

Three years ago this month, his father, Carlton, a former Marine, was leaving the White House staff after a two-year stint on the National Security Council.

As departing staff members often do, Mr. Philadelphia asked for a family photograph with the Commander-in-Chief, who happily obliged.

When the pictures were taken and the family was about to leave, Mr. Philadelphia told Mr. Obama that his sons each had a question …

    Jacob spoke first.
    “I want to know if my hair is just like yours,” he told Mr. Obama, so quietly that the president asked him to speak again.
    Jacob did, and Mr. Obama replied, “Why don’t you touch it and see for yourself?” He brought his head level with Jacob, who hesitated.
    “Touch it, dude!” Mr. Obama said.
    As Jacob patted the presidential crown, Mr. Souza snapped.
    “So, what do you think?” Mr. Obama asked.
    “Yes, it does feel the same,” Jacob said.

IBM has reportedly banned the use of the iPhone 4S voice recognition service Siri, but not because it’s annoying or pointless. It’s a security risk.

Possibly, anyway.

IBM Chief Information Officer Jeanette Horan said earlier this week that destination for outgoing search inquiries made using Siri could be a concern.

When people ask Siri a question the data is sent to Apple’s facility in Maiden, N.C. After that, no one knows what the company does with the date.

This alarms IBM, as Apple could be storing their information on their servers.

Apple doesn’t sayow long data is stored or who can access it, but Horan has made it pretty clear that the company is “extraordinarily conservative.”

Edward Wrenbeck, Apple’s Siri developer, downplayed concerns, saying “People already do these things on mobile devices. Maybe Siri makes their lives easier, but it’s not exactly opening up a new avenue that wasn’t there before.”

Well, except for cellphones getting racist or telling off Zooey Deschanel.

Last year, Tara Reid married Zach Kehayov. 

Actually she didn’t, but she pretended like she did to get attention from celebrity gossip tabloids, even though it wasn’t a legal wedding. Then they broke up.

Now the alleged actress has moved on to a new, older beau: 60-year-old jeweler Fawaz Gruosi, recently dubbed of the most sought-after watch and jewelry makers of his generation, according to The New York Times.

Get a prenup drafted up early, Fawaz.

The two were spotted holding hands and looking intimate aboard a massive yacht at the Lady Joy Boat Party during the famous Cannes Film Festival, which the 36-year-old train wreck may or may not have crashed with no ticket.

The new couple partied alongside A-list stars such as Eva Longoria, Diddy and Alec Baldwin, and clearly had fun, stumblinb out of the party looking rough.

Reid recently returned to the big screen with a role in American Reunion, her first film to get a wide theatrical release since 2005′s Alone in the Dark.

And probably her last.

First, Ray J. Now, Elton John. Is no legendary singer safe?!?

The multiple-time Emmy Award winner was hospitalized yesterday with a “serious respiratory infection,” according to his official website. As a result, John has been forced to cancel the remaining performances of “The Million Dollar Piano,” his ongoing Las Vegas show.

Following various tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, John was told by physicians to take a week of rest and antibiotics to “cure his respiratory infection and prevent any damage,” the statement reads.

“It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at the Colosseum,” John himself says. “I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you.”

Elton will come back to Sin City in October, but departs on June 1 for a summer tour in Europe.

Ashley Benson stars in Pretty Little Liars.

If it were up to her, she’d at Fifty Shades of Grey to her resume as well. The 22-year-old is the latest star to express an interest in the much-anticipated film.

Saying she’s been trying to “break out of her good-girl mold,” with more edgy films like Spring Breakers, Benson openly covets the role of Anastasia Steele.

“I’ve read every book. I want to play Anastasia,” Benson said.

Though the bubbly blonde doesn’t quite match the book’s description of Anastasia (“a pale, brown haired girl with blue eyes too big for her face”), she’s dead set on the role, even if some fans see her as a perfect Katherine Kavanagh (Ana’s BFF).

“Kate is awesome. I like all the characters, but Anastasia? I just love her so much!” the actress explained.

As soon as Universal Pictures won the motion-picture rights to the best-selling “mommy porn” BDSM-themed trilogy, fans have partaken in an ongoing fantasy casting game of who should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Robsten, Alexis Bledel, Armie Hammer, Emmy Rossum, Matt Bomer, and The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are all oft-mentioned names.

Lifetime has found an actress to play Casey Anthony in the upcoming film about her trial. Young, relative unknown Holly Deveaux will portray Tot Mom.

Although Kristen Stewart and other fan hopefuls were rumored as candidates to play the accused child murderer, the network settled on Deveaux.

The film will be titled Imperfect Justice, a Lifetime rep confirmed.

Deveaux, 19, has appeared in TV programs Less Than Kind and Baxter in her native Canada, as well as in a made-for-TV TNT movie, Silent Witness.

Though the actress’ role is a crucial one, Anthony won’t be the focus. Instead, the story will center on the attorneys behind the controversial trial.

Rob Lowe has been cast as Jeff Ashton, the prosecuting attorney alongside Elizabeth Mitchell (who will play fellow prosecutor Linda Drake Burdick).

The Office‘s Oscar Nunez will tackle the role of Anthony’s defense attorney Jose Baez, who pulled a rabbit out of his hat and got Casey off the hook.

In other news, Casey Anthony got served with a subpoena in the lawsuit filed against her by Zenaida Gonzalez, and is dreading going back to court.
