Adam Lambert might be touring the country with fellow American Idol finalist Allison Iraheta, but the singer found time recently to make a recording studio stop.

There, he remixed one of his latest hit singles, “If I Had You,” teaming up with DJ/producer Jason Nevins on the new version. Give it a listen now:

The singer has started a new contest on his official website. He’s encouraging followers to Tweet photos of themselves decked out in glitter, makeup and eccentric outfits to @adamlambert, including the hashtag “#glamphoto” on all entries.

On September 15, the contest’s grand prize winner will receive an autographed item from Lambert.

Earlier this month, the oddly-dressed eccentric singer set a record for MTV Video Award Nominations. But many music fans are more focused on the shut-out of the former American Idol runner-up, who didn’t receive a single nod for any songs or videos.

Among those perplexed by this fact is Ke$ha. Speaking to Billboard magazine, the artist said of the snub:

“It’s a little bit unfortunate that he didn’t get nominated, because he does have one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. In a business full of utmost douchebaggery, I’m really lucky to have found a real friend in him.”

At times, Ke$ha and Adam have been more than friends. They played a bit of tonsil hockey with each other in February of this year and would make an incredible couple if the latter ever switched teams.

For now, we’ll just need to be content with their platonic relationship. But we don’t need to be satisfied with Lambert’s VMA snub! Write in now and share your displeasure over this shameful oversight!

Adam Lambert and his Glam Nation tour touched down in Wichita, Kansas last week.

Accompanied by opening act and fellow American Idol finalist Allison Iraheta, the singer rocked out to all his big hits, leading the crowd in renditions of “Whataya Want From Me”  and “Fever,” among other singles.

This tour visits Idaho tonight and Washington tomorrow. You can also catch Lambert on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on July 26.

The photographer – who snapped the controversial, glamorous cover photo used by this artist for his debut album – considered multiple images for this featured shot.

Eventually, he and Adam settled on this pic, which Lambert admitted was purposely over-the-top and campy. We love it. But it’s interesting to browse through the alternatives.

Adam Lambert kicked off his Glam Nation summer tour last night in New York City with an impression of the Mad Hatter, a bit of man-on-man action and, of course, great music.

The artist performed at the Nokia Theater and, because we’ve been critical of Miley Cyrus for a simulated same-sex kiss, her ignorant fans will likely get on our case for standing up for Adam and his actions below. But there are major differences here:

• Miley is straight and pretended to make out with a girl just to seem edgy. Adam actually is gay.
• Lambert has been flamboyant and eccentric from the moment he stepped on the American Idol stage. Fans always knew exactly what they were getting with him, as there’s been no sudden transformation just to sell records – and his clothes remain intact!
• Adam is not 17 years old.

As loyal THG readers know, we adore Adam Lambert.

After Tweeting a photo of his head partly shaven, Adam Lambert officially debuted his unusual new hairstyle at last night’s MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada.

The unique look helped Lambert become the talk of the red carpet, which is saying a lot when Perez Hilton shows up in a panda-themed suit.

Concert-goers around the country will have a chance to view Lambert – and his flowing, lopsided locks – in person, starting tomorrow night in New York City when his Glam Nation tour begins. For now, we’re just asking readers to sound off on his appearance:

In his new music video, Adam Lambert seems to pay tribute to the Mad Hatter.

In a newly-posted Twitter pic, though, the singer appears to pay tribute to a formerly mad celebrity: Britney Spears.

Lambert has shaven at least part of his head, as evidenced below. He’s covered his noggin with a top hat for now, though, a style he’ll show off this summer across North America on his new tour.

In “If I Had You,” Adam sings about how hollow one’s life can be, even when surrounded by material goods and wealth. “The message is one of love,” he says, adding:

“Over the past year, in addition to my unbelievable opportunities, I have also been faced with the unique challenge of staying positive in light of some critics and closed mindedness. My friends, family, and my devoted fans have been a key force in keeping me grounded.”

If Adam Lambert were to place an online personal ad, he clearly would not be seeking a SWF with whom he could go on long beach walks.

Instead, in an interview with Frontiers magazine, the singer makes it clear that he’s interested in a SYPB. What does that stand for? By the end of this article, you should be able to figure it out…

On the pressure of being an openly gay musician: The thing I keep telling myself whenever the pressure starts looming is that I’ve been doing what I’ve always done, just on a larger scale now, so it’s not so bad! The opportunities that have come from American Idol are amazing.

On current musical influences: I love a lot of the electronica stuff from the UK – Ive been gravitating toward that lately. I had my moment when I was all about the classic rock years back, but lately it’s more about pop-electro stuff. I love Goldfrapp, La Roux. And all of the American pop divas, of course: Gaga, Christina, Madonna, Rihanna. I love all of them.

On the reception he’s received: At first I didn’t know if the gay community was really into this or not, what I’m doing. And then slowly but surely I was traveling internationally and domestically and met a lot of gay men and women who were really excited about what’s going on with my record and what I’m doing, and it feels really nice for my community to acknowledge it.

Lambert was then asked if he’d rather sleep with Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell, a hilarious question. His response:

Ew. Neither one of them is my type at all. They’re both too old for me. I like pretty boys in their early-to-mid twenties. Make sure you print that.

In his music video for “If I Had You,” Adam Lambert combines the worlds of Willy Wonka with Thriller and Interview with the Vampire.

Sounds about right for the flamboyant artist, doesn’t it?

But Lambert toned his look down a bit for a performance on The Tonight Show Friday evening, merely donning a pair of zebra-inspired pants for a rendition of this same single. Judge them for yourself now:

Over the past couple weeks, Lambert has appeared at charity event that raised money to fight AIDS; taken part in a concert sponsored by KISS-FM in Los Angeles; been interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres; and come down with a slight case of Bieber Fever.

We hope he’s feeling better because there’s a tour of North America to go this summer!
