Britney Spears: Ordered to Court
January 17, 2010The commissioner in the Britney Spears conservatorship case has ordered the star to appear next week in person after she skipped out on Friday’s appearance.
Commissioner Reva Goetz is livid about what happened two days ago, when Britney was due in court at 1:30 for a status hearing but declined to show up.
Spears’ people didn’t want her to show because Britney was getting her nails done and reading celebrity news magazines would be besieged by reporters.
On the plus side, Britney Spears was seen smiling for once!
No word on whether the real reason for Britney bailing was her hating her body, but she will be there next week for a hearing – or else. Or else what? Something!
Commissioner Goetz, unmoved by the star’s no-show, said “The court was supposed to meet with Ms. Spears this afternoon and there was a misunderstanding. I’m going to continue the matter until next Friday at 1:30 and she will be here.”
The conservatorship was extended in December, meaning her father, Jamie Spears, remains in control of Britney’s personal, financial and medical affairs. For now.
