Alex Morgan: Nude in Sports Illustrated!

February 10, 2012

They were teammates on the field, but Hope Solo and Alex Morgan are going at it away from the soccer pitch.

In October, the Team USA goalie posed naked for ESPN the Magazine’s Body issue and now Morgan, another star on last summer’s World Cup squad, is doing the same in the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

She’s seen here in boday paint only:

“It was a completely new experience and definitely took some getting used to before I felt comfortable,” Morgan says of standing around in nary an item of clothing. “I had to look in the mirror every five minutes to make sure I actually had a swimsuit on.”

She does. Sort of.

This iconic, controversial edition of Sports Illustrated will be released on Tuesday, with the cover model unveiled Monday night on The Late Show with David Letterman.

In case you somehow needed another reason to get excited for the March 23 opening of The Hunger Games…

Sources confirm that the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will debut in front of Katniss, Peeta and company in theaters across the country. It’s a move that makes perfect business sense, as Lionsgate (distributor of The Hunger Games) acquired Summit Entertainment last month.

Kevin Youkilis Engaged! To Tom Brady’s Sister!

Kevin Youkilis is keeping it all in the Boston family.

The Red Sox third baseman is engaged to Julie Brady, according to The Boston Herald, the sister of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Boston icons

Youkilis first met Julie – a teacher and the mother of a five-year old daughter – at a 2010 party thrown for the Patriots party after they was knocked out of the 2010 playoffs. She’s one of the signal caller’s three sisters.

The engagement announcement comes as a time when both Boston stars could use some good new: Brady and the Pats lost in the Super Bowl last weekend, while Youkilis and the Red Sox made history with a September 2011 collapse that cost them a spot in the American League playoffs.

Kelly Rowland Pushes for U.S. X Factor Gig

Simon Cowell may not have offered Beyonce $100 millon, but he made it clear in a recent interview that he’d love for the former Destiny’s Child singer to sit at the judging table on season two of The X Factor.

We wonder if he’d settle for another ex-member of that group, however.

Speaking to CNN this week, Kelly Rowland – who served as a panelist in Great Britain – made it clear she’d embrace the same role here on Fox.

“It would be awesome to be a judge over here for The X Factor,” the artist said. “I really enjoyed my time over in the U.K. being a judge. That was a great opportunity and a great experience, and I would love to do it again.”

But is Rowland a big enough name to help Cowell boost the ratings of a series he swore would outdraw American Idol? We doubt it. Stay tuned.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner Strike a Chic Pose

It’s really only a matter of time before Kendall and Kylie Jenner are on the red carpets of Las Vegas and/or headlining their own reality show.

For now, though, the 14-year old and 16-year old are simply following in their sisters’ modeling footsteps, the latest example being a shoot with celebrity photographer Nick Saglimbeni. A rather grown up, chic shoot at that:

Kylie Tweeted the photo above last night, as the siblings are going all glam in trendy black dresses and some serious hairdos.

Might modeling take the place of college for the twosome? It sounds that way, based on a recent quote from father Bruce Jenner:

“If they want to go to college, certainly, I think it’s a good idea. But I’m not the advocate of, ‘You’ve got to go to college!’ I think by the time they graduate from high school, they will probably be in a position to go right to working.”

Let’s just hope neither is pitching the same product as their mother any time soon.

June Ambrose Makes Over Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams

In her new show, Styled By June, which is what she describes as a “docu-soap,” celebrity stylist June Ambrose helps celebrities revamp their style.

The show features Destiny Child’s Michelle Williams as she gets ready for The Drama League’s 28th Annual Benefit Gala in NYC. June helped a reluctant Michelle look stunning, dressing her in a gray strapless cocktail dress with beautiful rosette detailing on the bottom.

The 31-year old describes the personal issues she has been through in recent years that led to her taking a brief step back from the stoplight. Fear not, Michelle is a survivor! The stunning singer tells In Touch, “I loved working with June, she helped me feel comfortable with myself and made me want to spread my wings to fly!” She added she’s working on a new album that will be released on a new record label.

Styled by June premieres on VH1 on March 19.

Jesse Farrelly, Son of Director Bobby, Dead of Apparent Overdose

TMZ cites sources who say Jesse was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time after his body was discovered. He passed away from a suspected overdose, as the coroner has ruled out foul play.

In response to the tragedy, the Farrelly family – which includes fellow director Peter, pictured above with Bobby – released a statement that reads:

“It is with profound sorrow that we accept the passing of our beloved Jesse following his struggle with addiction. We fully trust that he is now in the hands of our Lord.

“We are immeasurably grateful for the abundance of happiness and laughter he brought into our lives, and we will rejoice eternally for all the moments we got to breathe in his wondrous spirit. The family thanks you for your well wishes and kindly asks that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

Bruce Springsteen Releases Official Music Video for “We Take Care Of Our Own”

Bruce Springsteen has released the official music video for “We Take Care Of Our Own,” and it’s not exactly the most upbeat four minutes in the history of the business.

As posted below, the video is shot in black and white and features no member of the E Street Band. Instead, we simply see shots of The Boss playing in an abandoned house, which are toggled between images of everyday Americans walking around, sullen, as the lyrics flash on screen.

However… Springsteen then asks “where’s the promise from sea to sea” and colorful, happier images crop up, such as a young boy catching a baseball.

Watch below and mark down March 6 on your calendar. That’s when the album “Wrecking Ball” comes out.

Supermodel Beverly Johnson’s Mission To Redefine Beauty

bev1_wide.jpg

When supermodel Beverly Johnson first made the scene more than 30 years ago, she broke down barriers as Vogue’s first African-American cover girl. She’s since spent her life working in the beauty industry, and now, along with her niece, Natalie Fuller, 23 — who was born with Down syndrome — she’s once again working to change the perception of what “beauty” is all about.

“Ever since Natalie was born, I wanted to make a difference in her life,” says Beverly, 59, who admits that, at first, hearing about Natalie’s condition wasn’t easy. “I was stunned,” she tells In Touch, quickly adding that the minute she held infant Natalie in her arms, everything changed.

Since then, Beverly has become a passionate advocate for Down syndrome awareness, and says she couldn’t have been happier when her niece rocked the runway at a fundraiser organized by the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (Beverly’s the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s International Spokesperson). “When she walked out, the crowd went wild. I was watching her and I was thinking, ‘She is a natural!’ It must run in the family!” chuckles Beverly, whose daughter Anansa Sims, 33 (also a model), is set to appear on Beverly’s new reality show Beverly’s Full House, which debuts on Oprah’s OWN network on March 31. “I couldn’t be prouder of Natalie. She’s an extraordinary girl,” says Beverly.
