Rick Santorum Declared Iowa Caucus Winner Following Recount

Mitt Romney is suddenly looking for win #2 in a row rather than #3.

While the former Massachusetts governor appeared to eke out a slim eight-vote win in the Iowa caucus on January 3, the Des Moines Register reports that the final count of the vote puts former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum ahead by 34.

After a long night of vote-counting, Romney appeared to post the slimmest-ever margin of victory in Iowa, but GOP officials discovered inaccuracies in 131 precincts, not all of which affected the final vote, but which threw the race to Santorum.

Romney, Santorum

Rick Santorum won 29,839 votes to Mitt Romney’s 29,805. In essence, state GOP officials said, Iowa’s results come down to a virtual tie, or “split decision.”

NBC News will still not declare a winner in the Iowa caucus, saying with results from eight precincts out of 1,774 missing, it is impossible to know who won.

Nevertheless, Santorum declared victory today after the updated results were posted.

What does this mean going forward? Not much. Romney put up a decisive victory in New Hampshire Jan. 10, while Santorum has faded fast since Iowa.

It does deprive Romney of bragging rights, though, and the story could help dissuade primary voters in South Carolina that he is the inevitable nominee.

South Carolina’s critical primary is Saturday, with Romney looking to hold off a surging Newt Gingrich, who shot past Santorum after Monday’s debate.

Newt got more good news today with Rick Perry dropping out and throwing his support behind him – and in essence giving him more screen time at tonight’s debate.

Then again, Marianne Gingrich also started doing interviews.

Travis Barker Nude Photos Leak, Drummer Threatens Lawsuit

Travis Barker is doing all he can the public from seeing naked photos of himself and, for that, allow us to say the following to the veteran musician:

THANK YOU!

Travis Barker Photograph

A handful of these images broke loose online yesterday morning, leading Barker’s lawyer to fire off a cease and desist letter to any site that posted them.

Obtained by TMZ, it reads that the pics were over five years old, private and “never intended for public viewing or to be seen by anyone else.” The letter also threatens anyone who posts them with a lawsuit, deeming the action “unauthorized use of private photos.”

Barker’s face is reportedly unseen, but the tattoos make it clear to whom the penis in question belongs. Some sites still have them live, and we’d link over to the shots… but, come on. Does anyone really want to see them?

Johnny Depp Repeats as America’s Favorite Actor

Johnny Depp is having problems with long-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, according to tabloid reports.

But there are no such issues between the A-lister and the American public, the results of a new Harris Poll make clear: Depp has been voted the country’s favorite actor for the second year in a row.

Depp tops the ball over two second-place heavyweights, Denzel Washington and Clint Eastwood; while Tom Hanks and, apparently, John Wayne round out the top five.

Completing the top 10, in order of finish: George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Harrison Ford, Will Smith and Adam Sandler, meaning no voters actually saw Jack and Jill.

Do you agree with these results? Who from the top five, is your favorite?

Exclusive: Former Bachelorette Winner Jesse Csincsak’s Thoughts on Emily Maynard as the Next Bachelorette

jesseemily2.jpg

Former Bachelor winner Emily Maynard, 25, is looking for love on TV — for the second time! Production for the ABC show is heading to her hometown for filming to accommodate the mother of 6-year-old Ricki.

One former Bachelorette winner tells In Touch he firmly believes Emily is in it for the fame. “Is it me, or do you remember Emily [Maynard] going on-camera with Chris Harrison, saying how much she hated the limelight and all of its attention after her stint on The Bachelor with Brad?” Jesse Csincsak asks. “I guess everyone really does have their price.”

Rumors circulated that the blond Southern belle was dating Carolina Panthers player Jeremy Shockey following her split from Bachelor Brad Womack.

“Since Brad, she has been on dates with lots of high-profile athletes and TV guys,” claims Jesse, calling Emily a “stage 5 jersey-chaser.”

What are your thoughts on Emily as the next Bachelorette? Is she in it for the right reasons?

Marianne Gingrich Says Newt Wanted Open Marriage, Lacks Moral Character to Be President

Just 48 hours before the critical South Carolina primary, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife Marianne is criticizing the former House Speaker’s character.

Marianne Gingrich says, in an interview airing tonight on Nightline, that Newt’s professed positions on marriage and family values do not line up with his actions.

Their 18-year marriage ended in 1999, and during that span, Marianne says Newt Gingrich admitted to her about a six-year affair with a Congressional aide.

That woman is now Newt’s third wife, Callista Gingrich. This is well documented, but it’s a comment Newt allegedly made about it that’s raising eyebrows:

He asked his wife if she would share him with Callista, according to Marianne.

“I just stared at him and he said, ‘Callista doesn’t care what I do.’ He wanted an open marriage and I refused,” Marianne Gingrich tells ABC News.

Marianne also details how Newt was conducting this affair while publicly condemning the unfaithful President Clinton for his lack of moral leadership.

“How could he ask me for a divorce on Monday and within 48 hours give a speech on family values and talk about how people treat people?” she said.

“Truthfully, my whole purpose is to get out there about who I am, so Newt couldn’t create me as an evil, awful person, which was starting to happen.”

It gets worse. Newt divorced Marianne months after she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she says, and began dating her almost as scandalously.

Her relationship with Newt started before his divorce from his first wife, Jackie, was finalized. And he left Jackie while she was undergoing cancer treatment.

Political pundits call this “baggage.” Can he overcome it? Newt, who is trying to sustain recent momentum, responded to this interview on Today, saying:

“I’m not going to say anything negative about Marianne.”

“My two daughters, Kathy and Jackie, have sent a letter to the president of ABC News saying from a family perspective, they think this is totally wrong.”

“They think that ABC should not air anything like this. And that intruding into family things that are more than a decade old are simply wrong.”

“I think that my two daughters are very credible on my character, I think the people who have known me a long time are credible on my character.”

“We have lots of folks willing to speak on this, I’m not going to.”

The letter of which he speaks that his daughters wrote says, “The failure of a marriage is a terrible and emotional experience for everyone involved.”

Newt “regrets any pain he may have caused in the past to people he loves,” they say, echoing sentiments Newt has made on the campaign trail.

Gingrich often speaks of his mistakes, admitting he is imperfect. The question is now much baggage is too much for voters to potentially take.

He should get a modest boost from Rick Perry dropping out of the race today, and has another debate tonight to make his case in South Carolina.

Katy Perry Named Most Cheat-Worthy Celebrity By Infidelity Website

Katy Perry has been named the celebrity with whom most married men would love to have an affair, according to infidelity matchmaker Ashley Madison.

It’s unclear what role her recent split from Russell Brand played in the poll of over 25,000 subscribers, but Katy topped the list, edging out Rihanna.

Kim Kardashian fell from #2 a year ago to #9, with 2011 winner Jennifer Aniston at #5. Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez fell off the list.

Other high ranking temptresses included Mila Kunis, Blake Lively, Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara and Scarlett Johansson. Something for everyone there.

According to Ashley Madison’s founder, Noel Biderman: “Our annual Celebrity Hall Pass survey reflects the revolving door of celebrity infidelity.” Too true.

“Celebrity cheating has encouraged these conversations to take place and these days partners actually do give their spouse permission to have a Hall Pass.”

Not sure about that on a grand scale, Noel, but here’s the survey’s Top 10:

  1. Katy Perry
  2. Rihanna
  3. Mila Kunis
  4. Salma Hayek
  5. Jennifer Aniston
  6. Scarlett Johansson
  7. Sofia Vergara
  8. Blake Lively
  9. Kim Kardashian
  10. Sarah Palin

Hang on a second … Sarah Palin!?!? Really people?

Teen Mom Jenelle Evans’ Wild Night Out

JENELLE1_wide.jpg

In Touch’s exclusive photos reveal that 20-year-old Teen Mom Jenelle Evans is torn between being a good parent and wanting to party like a teenager. During a wild night out at former friend James Duffy’s home, Jenelle hardly seemed like the reformed mother devoted to regaining custody of her 2-year-old as she slugged down brandy and locked lips with galpal Tori Rhyne, 18. “They were messed up,” James, a North Carolina local in his 40s, tells In Touch. “Jenelle was out of control.”

And it looks like her legal woes are out of control, too. Already on probation for the possession of drug paraphernalia and in connection with a violent fight, the college dropout was arrested once again on January 10 for allegedly harassing and threatening ex-roommate Hannah Inman, 19. “Jenelle threatened to beat me and kill me,” Hannah states in court papers, but Jenelle denies it. Unfortunately for Jenelle, actions speak louder than words to judges. As James believes, “At this rate, she’ll never get back custody of Jace!”

For more exclusive photos of Jenelle Evans, pick up this week’s issue of In Touch, on stands now.
