A handful of the most successful artists alive helped America ring in 2012 last night.
As previously reported/posted, Lady Gaga rocked out in her native New York City, while Justin Bieber also took to Times Square for a duet with Carlos Santana and an original take on The Beatles.
Across the country, meanwhile, Nicki Minaj made her talented presence felt. The singer helped Dick Clark celebrate 40 editions of his annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special via a fun performance of “Turn Me On.” Check it out now.

The biggest artists performed live on one of the biggest stages possible last night.
To ring in the new year from Times Square, in front of over one million live revelers, Lady Gaga performed a medley of hits “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night” and “Born This Way.
Justin Bieber, meanwhile, left his own mark on the end of 2011, taking to a stage in the middle of the audience and covering a Beatles classic along with guitarist Carlos Santana. Listen to their version of “Let It Be” now:
But Bieber wasn’t done. The artist teamed with Jaden Smith and Tweeted a special gift to followers: this video of him and his hip hopping pal coming together for a track they simply refer to as “Happy New Year.”

LeBron James has made no secret of his admiration for Michael Jordan.
But we didn’t realize just how badly The King wanted to be like His Airness. Until now: a few days after Jordon proposed to Yvette Prieto, the Heart superstar did the same to Savannah Brinson, his high school sweetheart and the mother of his two children.

The proposal took place at a New Year’s Eve party at Shelborne South Beach’s SL Nightclub in Miami, sources confirm, a day after James turned 27 years old.
“Congrats to LeBron. @KingJames and Savannah so happy 4 u guys,” Miami Heat owner Micky Arison Tweeted last night.

For native New Yorker Lady Gaga, it was a dream come true.
The singer performed live in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, treating Little Monsters to a medley of “Heavy Metal Lover,” “Marry the Night” and “Born This Way.”
She began the routine in a costume that looked like a cross between Jabba the Hutt, a giant squid and a sequined Pac-Man. Your guess is as good as ours really.
Soon enough, she changed to a (relatively, for Gaga) normal black body suit, Catwoman mask and globe-structure thing. Watch her NYE performance below:
Gaga later helped NYC Mayor Bloomberg push the button to drop the Times Square ball after changing into a sparkly Versace number. What a way to start 2012!
Always emotional but rarely like this, she got a little choked up talking to Ryan Seacrest about the whole thing. Check out her brief interview after the jump:
