Consider it the peck heard ’round the world.

Following last night’s Vanity Fair Oscars party, which featured the red carpet debut of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez as a couple, this pair exited the event and waited for their car to arrive.

As they did so, Justin leaned in and delivered to Selena something about which millions of girls around the planet have dreamed: a peck on the lips. It was as quick as it was cute. Watch, swoon now and and send in your best wishes to this adorable, official twosome:

The night before the big event, sources confirm that Jelena stayed in a penthouse suite at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA.

During their time at the five-star resort, the pair were “affectionate, cuddling and holding hands” while walling along the beach, a witness said.

Charlie Sheen‘s longtime publicist, Stan Rosenfield, has quit his job, after Charlie has spent the week attacking everyone from Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre to AA and CBS.

“I have worked with Charlie Sheen for a long time and I care about him very much,” Rosenfield said in a statement. “However, at this time, I’m unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned.”

In an interview with TMZ.com early Monday, Sheen, 45, suggested that Rosenfield had previously lied on his behalf in regards to a previous hotel stunt in October.

“I was asleep when that statement went out,” Charlie said. “I respect Stan, he was doing the best he could at the moment. Had I confirmed with him, I probably would have come up with something better.”

As for how far his “respect” for Stan goes, Charlie later called Stan a profanity, and told TMZ, “He’s not allowed to quit, so you’re fired.”

In his latest rant – this time to TMZ, from his own backyard – Charlie Sheen insinuated that long-time publicist Stan Rosenfield lied in October when he claimed that Sheen’s Plaza Hotel breakdown was due to an allergic reaction.

As a result of this statement, Rosenfield issued the following statement this afternoon: “I’m unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned.”

Sheen’s response to this decision? “Pussy. He’s not allowed to quit, so you’re fired.”

Yes, it’s just another few hours in the life of Charlie Sheen. Shortly after he went off to NBC and ABC regarding his status as a role model for his children, the star spoke with TMZ and said he was disappointed in how those interviews were portrayed.

“I had an expectation, and the result was not something I thought it would be. And that’s on me. Whatever, life goes on.”

Among other topics Sheen touched on: his father, his kids and Heath Ledger…

On his 10-month old kids: “Everybody here is parenting the kids. They’re running into walls, but they’re screaming ‘Da-Da’ when they do it.”

On his father’s recent defense: “I respectfully allow him to maintain those beliefs and those opinions. I don’t support them … He doesn’t live inside my brain. I’m the only one who does … No disrespect, but I’m 45 years old. At some point, respect and embrace that. I have five kids.”

Is he crazy? “I’m grandiose.”

Does he fear suffering a similar fate to Michael Jackson and Heath Ledger? “It’s not a one-size fits all. That’s what people don’t seem to get. That’s all I’m going to say about it. Don’t do drugs that are just supposed to be administered in a hospital at home. Read the frickin’ labels.”

In addition to Dancing With the Stars, which unveils its all-new cast tonight, Maksim Chmerkovskiy starred as The Bachelor in his native Ukraine.

Boy is he regretting that decision now.

Give him terrible tendinitis, put him in front of Len Goodman on his most crotchety day, even partner him with Kate Gosselin. Just get him on the floor.

“[It was] the hardest thing that I’ve ever done,” Maksim says of being The Bachelor. “If I knew then what I know now, I would never have signed up.”

The ballroom dancer is not one to shy away from the attention of beautiful women, but Chmerkovskiy admits he may not have done his homework.

“I had never seen it,” he says of The Bachelor. “I still knew what it was about. In theory you think you can do it, but you cannot realize how difficult it is.”

Looking for love while being followed by cameras is one thing, but what Maks was not prepared for is that at seemingly every turn, he broke hearts.

“The fact that I had to choose people was something else,” Chmerkovskiy said.

“People should never be lined up and chosen. We’re not objects and not supposed to be lined up like that. It’s terrible, it’s like I was back in high school.”

So did he dole out a final rose? He won’t say, but Maks notes that being the Ukrainian Bachelor had a unexpected perk that may have changed his life.

“There was a psychiatrist on staff who I ended up speaking to everyday, and it was so therapeutic,” he says. “It wasn’t that I had issues to fix, but talking to a professional everyday really helped a lot, so that was an amazing experience.”

That’s good. Brad Womack can most likely attest to the same thing.

By all accounts, Kelsey Grammer is not really a good man.

He’s admitted to cheating on Camille Grammer, he’s sparred with his children’s mother in public, and the guy just gives off a creepy vibe.

But one thing the actor can do is sing. He’s even earned a Tony Award nomination for this talent. It was on display at Friday’s wedding to Kayte Walsh, as Grammer serenaded his new bride (lucky number four!) with a rendition of “What Kind of Fool Am I?.” Watch him in action now:

The video for Lady Gaga’s controversial, wildly popular new single, “Born This Way,” has just been released, complete with a manifesto by the Mother Monster.

Directed by Nick Knight and choreographed by Laurie Ann Gibson, the video is vintage Gaga – elaborate, over-the-top performance art in seven-plus minutes.

As she made her way into the press room, it was her pregnancy that had Oscar winner Natalie Portman glowing.

“I don’t really remember anything that happened just now,” Natalie said backstage to reporters. “But the baby was definitely kicking a lot during the song portion of the show. Little dancer.”

As for what the Black Swan star expects from motherhood, she admits she is entering into the “complete unknown.”

“It’s a complete mystery and miracle. It’s really just accepting that I have no idea, which is what all of us live every day,” she said.

Despite the prestige of Sunday’s Oscar win, the next dream Natalie has is not quite as material.

“The next dream I have in terms of very short-term future is staying in bed, not having to do my makeup or hair and keeping my sweats on, relaxing,” she said. “For my child, to be happy and healthy is what every parent could only wish for.”
