Forget ex-husband Jon — Kate Gosselin could rename her TLC hit Sarah & Kate Plus 8! In Touch can exclusively reveal that Kate and her brood have traveled to Alaska with cameras in tow to meet up with the northern state’s most famous resident, Sarah Palin. “Sarah, Kate and the kids will go camping,” a source says, adding that Sarah’s father, a retired science teacher, and brother, a third-grade educator, will conduct a hands-on natural history lesson for 9-year-old twins Mady and Cara, and 6-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Leah, Hannah and Alexis. A mother of a big family herself, former vice presidential candidate Sarah is thrilled about the upcoming visit. “She’s excited because it will be fun and educational for the children. Sarah will even teach Kate how to avoid bears!” the insider adds.

Brangelina is awesome. We’ve said it before and will say it again.

While Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been making the rounds – her Salt premiere, Comic-Con – their attorneys have fought the good fight against false rumors.

No shortage of those to be found regarding the couple, either.

This morning, they accepted an undisclosed settlement (earmarked for charity, of course) from the UK’s News of the World for “false and intrusive allegations.”

You mean the weekly deluge of Brangelina gossip isn’t all true?!? We’re stunned. Five-plus years after Angelina stole Brad, it’s hard to take any story seriously.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have another reason to smile.

The duo called in the legal dogs after a story in January claimed the pair had met with a Los Angeles divorce lawyer to quietly divide their assets, hash out a custody deal and financially provide for their six children in a “messy separation.”

Not the case. And the tabloid paid a heavy price.

While the newspaper removed from the offending celebrity gossip article, it refused to acknowledge that the printed information was untrue until now.

“When the News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologize for them – thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position – the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue,” their attorney, Keith Schilling, said.

In other news, Ange is gonna help Jen adopt! Like, OMG! Congrats!

Watch out Taylor and Miley, there’s a new pop princess in town! Emma Kate Lasry is about to take the music world by storm, and on July 21, the gorgeous 17-year-old performed in front of a packed audience at The Bitter End in New York. Cheering and dancing in the audience was The Real Housewives of New York City star Kelly Killoren Bensimon, who tweeted about how much she loved the show. “Her voice is unreal. Where has she been hiding!” an onlooker gushed to In Touch after the concert. Christina Aguilera has released the official music video for her new single, “You Lost Me.”

Finally happy to discuss a subject that is NOT related to any Lady Gaga comparisons, Aguilera dished to Entertainment Tonight about the video shoot:

“What I wanted was a very raw and real feeling, kind of falling apart of your whole world. I have to credit Sia for coming to me with this idea and this concept in general.

“I draw upon pain of other situations from my life to put into storytelling… pain is almost a comfort zone for me.”

For the first time, Bryce Dallas Howard is speaking out about her 2007 case of postpartum depression.

In an essay on Goop.com, the Eclipse star writes that she was “mortified” by her weight gain while carrying son Theo and then, after he was born:

“I felt I was failing at breast feeding. My house was a mess. I believed I was a terrible dog owner. I was certain I was an awful actress.”

Postpartum depression reveals itself in many ways – from anxiety to loss of sleep to reduced libido – and affects between 5% to 25% of new mothers, with percentages varying based on the severity of the symptoms.

Worst of all, Howard says: “I definitely felt I was a rotten mother – not a bad one, a rotten one. Because the truth was, every time I looked at my son, I wanted to disappear.”

The actress adds that she screamed expletives at husband Seth Gabel and exhibited behavior “he had never experienced in the seven years we had been together.”

But, fortunately, Howard got help, which included reading Brooke Shields’ “Down Came the Rain” and speaking to a therapist. She now describes herself as happier than ever.

When Howard was first announced as the replacement for Rachelle Lefevre in Eclipse, Twilight fans were outraged. But their anger was never directed at the actress herself – and we’re sure we speak for all of them when we say:

Lindsay Lohan’s fellow Lynwood Correctional Facility inmates give Mean Girls a whole new meaning. Most of the women housed near LiLo are killers.

As in people actually doing time for murder.

Lohan expressed fears of being housed with these inmates since being thrown in jail two days ago, but has not received any special treatment yet.

She did enjoy some slightly less reprehensible company yesterday, though, when she was paid a visit by her mother, Dina, and her little sister Ali.

“Tears were shed,” a source close to the family said. “The visit was very emotional, but Lindsay’s spirits were lifted, seeing her mom and sister.”

As for Michael Lohan? He may join her in prison.

SPRUNG: If Lindsay behaves, like she has so far, she’ll be out quickly.

Visiting hours at the jail are typically limited to weekends, but in this case, the troubled actress was allowed an exception – for security reasons.

“Lindsay might receive visitors after official visiting hours are over for security reasons,” a jail official said. “It’s for the safety of everyone.”

Meanwhile, Lohan has been serving out her 90-day sentence – which is expected to be reduced to just 14 days due to overcrowding – in peace.

She’s “cool, calm and sleeping a lot,” says a source. “She’s not a mess at all. She’s keeping to herself … and really handling it pretty good.”

She may not have to handle it much longer, either. Says her attorney:

“It’s our expectation that Ms. Lohan will get additional time credit from her earlier times in custody and that would reduce her time in jail.”

Lindsay was expected to be released on August 1, or after two weeks, but according to Shawn Chapman Holley, she may be sprung sooner.

Judge Marsha Revel will decide how much time credit Lohan will receive and then send a minute order over to the L.A. Sheriff’s Department.

Alice Tan Ridley is moving on!

The mother of Oscar-winning actress Gabourey Sidibe first impressed America’s Got Talent viewers and judges with her audition in mid-June.

Since then, the woman who formerly sang in NYC subway stations has proven to be more than a one-hit wonder – and last night fans rewarded Ridley by voting her into the semifinals. Judges Piers Morgan and Howie Mandell approved of the decision.

Morgan referred to Alice as “brilliant,” while Mandell agrees: “Every time she moves on, it’s heartwarming and moving.”

In other America’s Got Talent news, dancers AscenDance, singer Michael Grimm and magician Antonio Restivo also moved on to the next round.

If Ridley takes home the crown, she’ll actually improve upon the fortunes of Susan Boyle, who finished second on Britain’s Got Talent. Best of luck, Alice!

Sadly, Color Me Badd singer Bryan Abrams has forgotten the message from his group’s chart-topping 1991 single, “All 4 Love.”

For the second time in two years, Abrams has been arrested on charges of domestic abuse. The latest incident took place in Hawaii, as Honolulu police booked Abrams for harassment after he and his wife got into an argument, and he allegedly tossed her across the room.

In September 2008, the singer was charged with domestic abuse and assault and battery after reportedly smacking a girlfriend and threatening to kill her at an Oklahoma restaurant.

There’s no truth to the rumor that Mel Gibson called Abrams this week and congratulated him on a job well done.

Did Mel Gibson admit domestic violence via text message?

According to a new report allegedly containing a message from the actor to Oksana Grigorieva, he did, addressing their January 6 altercation after the fact.

“Oksana, I wasn’t safe for you last night,” he supposedly wrote to his now-former girlfriend, who he’s now under investigation for domestic violence against.

Radar Online claims possession of Mel Gibson text messages sent a day after he allegedly punched Oksana in the head as she was holding their baby Lucia.

Oksana’s abuse allegations have been clouded by Mel claiming he is the victim of extortion, which police are also investigating. How does the text fit in?

According to Radar, the star sent this text on January 7:

“I spent two hours with a therapist today and have regained some perspective. What I am telling you know is I am safe & would like to come by and make amends to you, Sascha and Lucia. I won’t stay, just let you say your peace and I’ll say mine.”

That apologetic text, if authenticated, would seem to be an admission of violence and corroborate some comments on the inflammatory Mel Gibson tapes.

Again, the dual debates over the authenticity of the recordings and text messages, as well as whether Oksana was using them to try to shake down Mel.

On the phone calls she taped, Mel told Oksana she “f*%king deserved it” after she complained about him hitting her, and that “no one will believe [her].”

The text message exchange is in Oksana’s phone, Radar says. She was ordered to surrender it to the authorities as part of the official investigation.

He also references Alexander, or Sacha, Oksana’s 12-year-old. Mel is also accused of attacking her son, though he says eyewitnesses will deny this.
