Last month, Miley Cyrus compared herself to Britney Spears.

Now, Katy Perry has gone ahead and done the same thing – but with a very different meaning behind it.

According to Life & Style, Perry caught a glimpse of Miley’s outfits at the 2010 MuchMusic Awards and said to a friend:

“Oh my God, poor girl… She’s Britney Spears all over again. It’s happening right before our eyes… she’s definitely headed the Britney route. It’s worse. Look at those outfits. It’s bad.”

We’ve been saying the same thing for weeks, of course… but we don’t go around posing for Esquire like this. Makes it a bit tough for Perry to present her case, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, Cyrus joined Dolly Parton on stage for a duet outside Knoxville this weekend. She actually sounded great, making her current image that much more frustrating.

ABC can bleep his name all it wants, but Greek’s Gregory Michael is caught in the middle of the Breakup of the Century between Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi.

In last night’s explosive interview on The Bachelorette, Jake accused his ex-fiancee of cheating with Michael, which she denied. “There [was] nothing,” she said.

Michael says there was something, alright.

“That’s a lie,” the actor told Us Weekly. “We definitely made out that weekend [June 20] and Vienna made it very clear that it was over between her and Jake.”

Girardi said they only danced for less than “nine seconds,” but Michael counters: “I wouldn’t say we danced for a few seconds. We danced as a group all night.”

“We also danced alone for parts of the evening.”

Was Vienna Girardi lying about her dalliances with Gregory Michael during last night’s tell-all interview – and is Jake’s now-single ex seeing the Greek star now?

Michael says she did tell the truth when she told Jake Pavelka that she hardly knew him: “At the time the interview was conducted, we hardly knew each other.”

But he took aim at Jake when the former Bachelor star referred to him directly when saying, “That boy told me you cheated when he went on-the-record.”

“I never said she cheated,” Michael insisted. “I said we hooked up and she said they were broken up. I would never do that if she was in a relationship.”

He says he doesn’t know anything about Pavelka’s claim that Vienna Girardi hooked up with other guys: “I don’t know what flings Jake is referring to.”

The ABC interview ended with Vienna storming out in tears after Jake raised his hand in anger and stunningly reprimanded her for interrupting him.

Lindsay Lohan’s day of reckoning has arrived, and an orange jumpsuit will soon follow – she’ll be doing 90 days in jail for violating probation, followed by rehab.

The troubled actress must surrender July 20.

She’s beaten the rap before, but from the very beginning today, the star’s attempts to evade jail for skipping mandatory alcohol education classes were doomed.

She has now made good on the classes, but that wasn’t true in May, when she bailed on her last hearing and ended up free on bail wearing a SCRAM device.

Whether she remained free or not rested with no-nonsense Judge Marsha Revel, who sentenced LiLo after incredulous prosecutor Danette Meyers took it to her.

Hard core.

UP AGAINST IT: The evidence against her too strong and the judge no pushover, Lindsay and lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley were unable to defy the odds again.

Court proceedings began with a victory for the troubled star. Revel ruled out the matter of the SCRAM device going off after the MTV Movie Awards June 7.

The hearing was thus exclusively about whether Lindsay Lohan violated probation by not attending enough alcohol ed classes at the time of the last hearing.

Not that she was out of the woods by any means.

The Office Manager at the Right On program testified that the program knew the judge wanted Lindsay to attend class once a week, which she did not.

Co-owner Cheryl Marshall testified that she violated the program by failing to attend the classes and coming up with a variety of excuses throughout.

The program determined in both May and August 2009 that Lindsay’s excuses were “endless and disrespectful” and that she was not in compliance.

Prosecutors are clearly not taking this lightly, running down the list of times – nine total – that Lindsay skipped class, often for weeks at a time no less.

Court adjourned until 1:30 PST, but when it resumed, it was clear that the evidence was piling up against Lohan – she violated probation, plain and simple.

There were lots more excuses, but ultimately they didn’t fly. Revel laid the smack down on Lohan and sentenced her to almost three months in the can.

Lohan’s probation was contingent upon her attending classes and staying clear of trouble following her 2007 DUI conviction. Suffice it to say, it didn’t take.

The judge noted that there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case. Ya think?

Lindsay dissolved into tears when the judge imposed the sentence, then broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge, “I did the best I could.”

Sure thing. Surprising she didn’t blame everyone else right there.

To some, the Fourth of July means friends, family and two of the cutest young artists on the planet.

To others, it means private yachts, drinking and a party so exclusive that bouncers actually bar the public from entering.

Count Kim Kardashian in the latter group, as she and Miles Austin stopped by a club named Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey on Friday night. The pair shut down the place entirely, sources say, arriving around midnight and prompting the manager to take charge.

“He was telling guests outside that he had special guests inside,” a witness told Hollywood Life. “Even though the club was half empty he wouldn’t let anyone in.”

For a change, Kim was reportedly keen on not having her photo taken. She had security surround her and Austin at a private table all evening and:

“At one point Kim got up to use the restroom and was protected by three huge bodyguards. They were keeping her hidden from the crowd.”

The couple left after just an hour or so at the venue. Later in the weekend, they boarded a private yacht with the rest of the Kardashians in honor of Khloe’s birthday. These people live really tough lives.

No one doubted that the romance between George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis was red-hot — but this year, their Independence Day vacation was a little too explosive. The actor and his Italian bombshell were enjoying the fireworks with friends, including Uma Thurman, in a boat near his Lake Como villa when, according to TMZ, a firecracker went off right next to the celebration. The couple, who have been dating for a year, luckily escaped injury. This wasn’t the first close call George has had with a lady love. In 2007, the Up in the Air star and his then-girlfriend, Sarah Larson, suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle accident in N.J.

Danielle Staub is many things – attention-starved, pornographic, spoiled, self-centered, egomaniacal, exploitive of gays – but we must add something to that list, based on a new interview with Parade:

She’s right.

The bat $hit crazy Real Housewife of New Jersey tells the magazine explains how this Bravo show would be nothing without her; and, really, can anyone argue with that? As much as viewers hate on Staub, they still watch her every week.

“Quite possibly without me they don’t have a New Jersey Housewives,” she says. “No one would tune in to watch the ham game. Or watch Jacqueline drink wine at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. I don’t think people are entertained by that. But what they do tune in for is to watch them talking about me and me trying to stay away from them.

“It’s incredible what a platform they’ve given me. So I have to say, ‘Thank you, ladies. You’re nothing without me on the show.’”

She has a point, one we make each week in our Real Housewives of New Jersey reviews: Why do these people continue to associate with Danielle if they hate her so much?!?

Staub was really on fire throughout the interview. A few more excerpts follow:

On social networking backlash: Why do these women not want to be around me, yet all they do is talk about me, tweet about me, Facebook about me, hire people to tweet about me and Facebook about me? And even have all their kids doing the same thing? It’s a disgusting waste of time.

On the Manzos: I don’t know where they are and what they are doing because I block them. I don’t find their lives to be that interesting. Ham game? I think it’s a disgusting waste of food.

Does she have any regrets? Not one regret. I said it in Season One, everyone will be exposed. I meant that in a real way. I got exposed from them digging up stuff about me from 25 years ago. I haven’t dug at all. I haven’t investigated them. Teresa said at the finale, ‘I have no skeletons in my closet.’ Really? You’re 11 million dollars in debt, sweetie pie. And you’re in your 30s.

On getting a spin-off: Danielle getting her own spin-off show would be fantastic. The Staub girls are a triple threat. It would be me and my daughters and then you’d get to see my entire family as a part of the show. And I do have a lot of business ventures, between my kids and I, and I’m managing their careers.

The Fourth of July was the previous day, but last night’s Jake Pavelka-Vienna Girardi interview on The Bachelorette may have been the most explosive display.

Together for the first time since the Breakup of the Century, the former couple began the segment in (fairly) civilized fashion before things got out of hand.

“I’m so mad at you and I’m just disgusted with you,” Jake said. “You are a fame whore, that’s what you are,” Vienna retorted. “You’re a liar is what you are.”

So it went.

In the climactic scene, Vienna tried to apologize, only to break down after Jake angrily raised his hand, forcefully ordering “Please stop interrupting me.”

She began to cry, to which Jake said, “again I got interrupted.” She then said, “You are the fakest person I have ever met in my life!” and stormed off set.

Another year, another arrest for George Michael.

The singer was taken in Sunday night on suspicion of being unfit to drive, following a bizarre accident in which he crashed his car into a London building.

The BBC has confirmed that Michael was behind the wheel and has been released on bail.

This is just the latest in a series of arrests for Michael. He faced drug possession charges in 2007 when he was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in Hyde Park.

Two years later, he was arrested for DUI, but released without charges.

In a statement, the singer says: “I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.”

We have no idea what George Michael is talking about. The guy is many things. Boring is not one of them.

Ellen Ross is dating Jon Gosselin for some reason.

Because of that lifestyle choice, the 23-year-old has given up her privacy. In exchange, however, she just might have found true love with the father of eight.

Breaking her silence in her first-ever interview, Ellen recently told Pop on the Pop all about her surprisingly normal life with the reality star and much more.

Excerpts from Ellen Ross’ Q&A with POTP below …

On their first date: “It was a backyard barbecue. You get together, sit around, have drinks, talk. That’s just the kind of stuff we do. We’re like a regular couple.”

On what she likes about Jon: “He’s funny, he’s very down to earth, he’s very laid back. Obviously, he’s a good father**! He’s fun to be around, always thinks of fun things to do. We actually have a lot in common; I think that’s why we get along so well.”

Jon likes what he sees in Ellen Ross … and/or that sweet phone.

On whether she had Jon get a tattoo of her name: “NO! Those were words taken out of context. The tattoo artist is my friend and has done work on me… I suggested, when Jon wanted to get a tattoo, that he go to my friend. That’s how that came up.”

On staying under the radar: “I try to be myself. I don’t try to go anywhere in particular. We just do regular things like regular people do and if there happens to be somebody around that’s a reporter or somebody, they may take a picture on their own.”

On public perception of her: “Anybody that says anything to me is supportive and they kind of feel for me for how certain things are perceived on the internet. I have yet to meet someone who strongly dislikes me to my face.”

On doing reality TV one day: “I have no interest in doing that… I would NEVER do [a reality show], that is not the direction that I’d ever want my life to go into.”

On who Ellen Ross really is: “I’m very down to earth. I like to avoid drama and I have a lot of close friends and I’m close with my family. I just try to go with the flow and take things as they come to me. I’m pretty personable. I’m easy to get along with.”

Amidst rumors that he neglected his children on Father’s Day, Kelsey Grammer is fighting back with his side of the story. The formerly drug-addicted partier-turned-family-man took to his official website to set the record straight regarding speculation behind his sudden split from his wife of 12 years, model Camille Grammer. “The truth is I did call my kids that evening. Frankly, I was surprised that they did not call me in the morning, but I was thousands of miles away and working that day so I didn’t give it a second thought,” says the actor, who is currently performing in La Cage Aux Folles on Broadway in New York while his daughter Mason, 8, and son, Jude, 5, live in LA with their mother.

Kelsey also assures his fans that he has no bad blood with his estranged wife, who filed for divorce on July 1. “Camille and I had been discussing the possibility of a separation for some time before all this happened. She finally decided she should file. I respect her for this decision. I hope to have a great partnership with her in the raising of our children,” he adds. As for reports that he was spotted canoodling with an attractive blonde in a New York restaurant, Kelsey claims the lady in question was his daughter from his first marriage, 26-year-old Greek star Spencer. “I do take issue with the characterization that we were smooching, but surely if that were the case then even I admit it might be newsworthy in some fashion,” the former Frasier star jokes.
