Matt Lauer and his wife are shooting down reports of a split amid his cheating ways – with Alexis Houston, who claims to be Whitney’s half-sister, the other woman!

Allegedly the other woman, and allegedly Whitney Houston’s half-sister. Both parts of this story are suspect, to say the least. Especially after Whitney’s rep said:

“Alexis Houston has no relation to Whitney in any way, shape or form.”

Whitney’s relative or not, Matt Lauer met Alexis Houston several years ago when she accompanied Whitney’s real-life relative Dionne Warwick to the morning show.

According to Hollyscoop, Lauer reached out to Alexis as recently as the 2010 Olympics, saying she was apparently at the sporting event to sing in Whitney’s stead.

Or not. “Whitney was never scheduled to perform at the Olympics,” her rep said. Okay, great … so is there any truth to this sordid Matt Lauer affair or what?

As for Alexis, her rep has denied the Lauer affair, saying: “Ms. Houston has never had any sort of relationship with Mr. Lauer and does not even recall meeting him.”

Basically, Matt Lauer’s had marital problems. But he’s no David Boreanaz. Or Tiger Woods. Or Jesse James. You get the idea. In a statement, the Today host said:

“I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple. I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.”

“Have we had a completely perfect, easy marriage? No,” Lauer says.

“But the stories you read over the years are not true. I don’t think we’re any different than any married couple that’s been together for 12 years. These accusations are ridiculous and I’m not going to [dignify] them with an answer. It’s not true.”

He calls the cheating allegations “ridiculous” and “offensive.”

Interesting. Makes you wonder if there’s a grain of truth in this somewhere. Added Annette Roque Lauer: “Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family.”

Earlier this week, the tween world went into a tizzy when Justin Bieber was spotted at dinner with Miley Cyrus.

The latter claims the pair is just working on a “side project,” but is this code? Should Liam Hemsworth be worried?

No and no, Bieber says. On today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the young heartthrob referred to the evening and said he and Cyrus are “just hanging out! If you look on the Internet, you’ll see other girls that I hang out with.”

Hmmm… that’s not a total denial, is it?

Bieber added that he’s “not really” dating anyone, a slight tease that is also likely to get the Twitter world all flustered. No way he’s hinting at something with Kim Kardashian, is he?!?

As for the other topic fans care about, Justin addressed his hair. He said:

“I blow dry it and then it’s done in, like, five minutes… I’m kinda liking the long hair right now. In the future, I may get bored and change it up, but for now, I like how it is.”

Whoa, stop the presses! Can you imagine Bieber with shorter hair? Ponder that possibility as you also check out Justin’s Oprah interview this week. The guy is everywhere.

Christina Aguilera isn’t just back on the music scene.

The singer, whose new album drops on June 8, is back to being her sexy, provocative self.

Her new music video is hot; her cover shot for GQ is naked… and the haters are coming out in full force.

As she struts her seductive, eccentric stuff again, critics are comparing Christina to the artist that, in some ways, has taken over her spot in the industry: Lady Gaga. What does Aguilera think of this comparison?

“I’m in it for the long haul, and a decade later in my career, I have nothing to prove,” Christina says in the latest issue of Billboard. “To anyone who wants to be negative, it’s like, ‘I’m obviously relevant enough to you for you to care and to talk and to evoke negative feelings inside of you.’ At this point in my career, I’m over any and all weird comparisons or negativity.”

Also in the article, Christina says that making hit singles is not what inspires her:

“There was actually a song that the label really wanted me to record, and I just said ‘no,’ because it didn’t fit on the album – it wasn’t creatively inspiring to me… when it jeopardizes my integrity too much I can’t do it.”

But when it comes to taking her clothes off, Xtina can get down with that! Thank goodness.

No papers have even been filed yet and things are already getting nasty in the Tiger Woods divorce, with his lawyers accusing Elin Woods’ of leaking to the media.

Elin’s lawyer, London-based Walter H. White, sent an email to his staff April 19, saying he’d “been accused by the other side of leaking information to the press.” 

“While we do not believe that anyone in the firm has been responsible for the leaks, we are aware that this is the second time that we have been so accused … “

Tiger’s top priority is to keep things quiet regarding the divorce, and to hammer it out fast. But his legal team insists Elin’s is leaking info, deliberately or not.

White urged his staff to avoid public conversations relating to all firm activities after “TMZ the web news service discovered that we represent Elin Nordegren.”

Those dastardly, no-good celebrity gossip sleuths!

Team Tiger is already pissed at Team Elin.

The email notes that Elin’s sister, Josefin, works at the firm, boasting “To some extent it is a surprise and a tribute that it has taken so long to figure this out.”

Interestingly, White was repping Elin in January, just a month after Tiger’s car crash, but before the couple appeared to be making progress (which later fizzled).

In an email dated January 12, White wrote, “I am writing to advise you that we have been asked by Elin Nordegren to assist her in her legal circumstances.” 

White goes on to say: “The firm has assigned a dedicated team to work closely and confidentially with Elin and Josefin [Nordegren] in order to fulfill this mandate.”

Lawyers for both Woods are trying to agree on property and custody issues – she’s reportedly fighting for the kids, as is Tiger – before filing divorce papers.

We’ll see if they can do it quickly and/or quietly as they’d like.

Sources close to Bret Michaels have given fans their two-week notice:

The recovering rocker really is planning a return to the stage before this month is over.

“He’s still in rehab,” an insider told People. “His doctor told him to do physical therapy once a day, but he’s doing it twice a day, because he wants a speedy, 100 percent recovery.”

As everyone now knows, Michaels suffered a non-aneurysmal brain hemorrhage on April 21. But doctors credit his “sheer will to live” as a significant reason why he’s already on his way back to touring.

Girlfriend Kristi Gibson also played a major role.

Reportedly, Bret has his sights set for his public appearance to be the May 23 finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. Nothing would make Donald Trump happier, we’re sure.

The singer is also anxious to return to his Roses & Thorns tour.

“It’s looking likely that his first date back will be May 28 at the Hard Rock in Mississippi,” said the source. “Bret sounds good. He’s still on meds and he sounds tired.”

We’re anxious to see you back on stage, Bret, but health comes first. Get all the way better and then we’ll throw our panties at you in concert!

Embattled, cheating husband Jesse James is not contesting Sandra Bullock’s divorce filing, nor her desire to raise adopted baby son Louis on her own.

We’ll never be accused of sympathy for James after the seed spreading he did, but if there ever were a case of a publicist hijacking a story, this is it.

According to reports, Jesse James was right by Sandra Bullock’s side when she posed with the baby boy for her huge People photo shoot and story.

Not only was James present, he was “incredible with both Sandra and Louis” and created a “healthy, loving and positive atmosphere” throughout the shoot.

The story was released along with Bullock’s first comments about James’ affairs with Michelle McGee et al., basically glossing over his involvement.

Sure, People and Sandra Bullock sort of screwed him over, but Jesse James made his own bed, now he must lay in it. Or get laid by Michelle McGee in it. You get the idea.

Also interestingly, the photos were taken March 9 – two days after the Oscars, and just a few days before the Jesse James cheating scandal first broke.

Photographers were seen carrying baby clothes into Bullock’s house that day, although no explanation (or announcement of the baby) was provided.

Sandra was apparently oblivious to Jesse’s alleged affairs when the pictures were snapped. Fast forward a month and a half, and voila, cover story.

Sort of lying by omission in a way.

The question: Are there photos of James and Louis People just scrapped or declined to mention? Not that any of this matters, but it’s interesting.

It was a celebration of the young, pretty and talented this week at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

On Wednesday night, NYLON magazine hosted its Young Hollywood Party, which honored many of the industry’s up-and-comers. Among them: the gals featured in this magazine’s May issue.

Hudgens showed up at the event with Zac Efron, while Tisdale caught up with Aly Michalka and remained close to boyfriend Scott Speer.

As for Greene? Speculation continues about her status for Breaking Dawn. Might she actually not be included in the final chapter of The Twilight Saga?!?

That answer is for another day. Let’s just enjoy these the beauty of these actresses for now…

Elizabeth Taylor, who like Dr. Arnold Klein was very close to Michael Jackson, and who like MJ was a patient of Klein, is slamming the doctor for his recent blabbing.

Specifically, about MJ’s alleged gay affair with Jason Pfeiffer.

Not only did Klein back up his former office manager’s account of an affair with Jackson, he flat out said Michael was gay, then said he didn’t betray Jackson’s trust.

An irate Taylor Twittered this yesterday, lambasting the dermatologist and noting the connection between Klein and other person with romantic ties to Jackson:

“Dr. Arnie Klein declared on May 2 that he did not betray Michael Jackson by saying publicly that he had a homosexual relationship with someone in Arnie’s office.”

“It seems he supplies not only women (Debbie Rowe), but men too … how convenient.”

There’s no love lost between two of Michael Jackson’s closest friends.

Not finished, Taylor added this stinger: “Just what we want in our doctors. And then to say he did not betray Michael’s confidence. No wonder he has death threats.”

“I thought doctors, like priests took an oath of confidentiality. May God have mercy on his soul.” Rough, to be sure but the legendary actress certainly has a point!

Klein’s defense of the comment was that it was made not to slander Michael, but show was not a pedophile. For what it’s worth, Joe Jackson and Michael’s bodyguards have also come forward to deny the gay affair story.

No comment from Team Arnie or from anyone in the federal witness protection program he may or may not have enlisted in during the past week.
