Russell Crowe loses his cool
May 14, 2010
Russell Crowe has denied having a hot temper, but five years after he famously attacked a hotel employee with a telephone, the actor’s anger has fired up publicly again. In an interview with BBC Radio 4 to promote his latest flick, Robin Hood, Russell became enraged after the host suggested he gave the English folk hero a hint of an Irish accent. “I’m a little dumbfounded you could possibly find any Irish in that character. That’s kind of ridiculous, but it’s your show,” he said, muttering an expletive. Later,
when asked about a rumor pertaining to his Oscar-winning role in 2000′s Gladiator, the Australian star stormed out of the interview. “I don’t get the Irish thing by the way,” he fumed, unable to move past the first irritation. The father of two was arrested after assaulting a front desk
worker at New York’s Mercer Hotel in June 2005. In 2002, Russell also got into a brawl in a London restaurant.
