Crystal Bowersox is Completely Committed to American Idol

Barring a collective, nationwide brain fart, Crystal Bowersox will be crowned American Idol champion next month.

But the season nine favorite came close to walking away from the competition a few weeks ago, as the pressure reportedly got to her and Crystal has to be convinced to stay by Ryan Seacrest.

While Bowersox has confirmed via Facebook that she had a “moment of doubt,” she was asked by TV Guide Magazine this week if she was 100% committed to the show? Her response: “Of course. Or I wouldn’t be here.”

As for her Tuesday night rendition of “People Get Ready,” a widely praised performance that brought the singer to tears, Crystal reiterated that a certain audience member caused her to break down:

“I love my dad. He’d go through hell and high water for me. He was wearing sunglasses [and] I knew he was trying to hide the fact if he cried. I looked up and saw the mirrored sunglasses and I was like, ‘I know he’s crying.’ And I just [lost it].”

Crystal also ditched the guitar and looked more dressed-up than usual for the single. Asked about the changes, she said:

“Just because I have dreadlocks doesn’t mean I can’t be elegant and pretty. I don’t have to wear jeans and ripped-up clothes. I’m a woman.”

She’ll also soon be a champion.

Heidi Montag: The Superficial Music Video


Get ready for the Superficial side of Heidi Montag.

We know, that’s the only size she has. This is a girl who values nothing but excess, fame, wealth and vanity (via unintentionally hilarious fake boobs).

For some reason, the ‘Tag continues to work toward a music “career,” and her latest contribution to that field is this hot music video for “Superficial.”

That’s the title track from her album. If you’re one of the eight people who own it, we pity you. Unless it was a gag gift from someone, then awesome.

“This is real footage we’ve collected over the years,” Heidi told People of the video. “I’m a reality star and wanted to bring that into my music video.”

Right, the home movie look is to make it authentic. Or because no one would film a legit video for this and Spencer Pratt made it on PowerPoint. Details.

“Someone like Lady Gaga has to fake paparazzi for her video and create that whole world but that’s the real life I live,” Heidi adds. “That’s my reality. “

Someone like Lady Gaga has actual talent, too. With that often comes music that actually sells and videos with actual budgets to promote it. Crazy!

Katy Perry: I Tapped Justin Bieber!


Nickelodeon aired the Kids’ Choice Awards last night, but it was an adult singer that got the pick of the young, hot litter.

After getting slimed on stage during her presentation of Favorite Movie Actress to Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry went backstage and laid a kiss on the sultry cheek of Justin Bieber. She later Tweeted:

Told you I would tap that. Yummy.

in related news, every teenage female in the country now despises Katy Perry.

In actual couple news, Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato attended the event together.

“He’s a great guy and you can’t always genuinely say that about guys in the limelight,” Lovato said on the red carpet. “I can really count on him. He’s a great friend and has always been there for me. And he and his brothers make great music! What’s not to like?”

Finally, in Cutest Couple Award news: Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart took home that trophy for New Moon.

“I have to admit, I have always dreamt of winning one of these orange blimps,” said Lautner, who also named Favorite Actor. “Seriously.”

Might this cause tension on set between Lautner and Robert Pattinson? According to every upcoming issue of unreliable supermarket tabloids: probably!

Bret Michaels in Critical Condition, Receiving A Lot of Suport


Following a major brain hemorrhage on Thursday night, Bret Michaels remains in critical condition.

As the rocker receives treatment at an undisclosed hospital, his rep has released a statement thanking fans for their “support, thoughts & concern.” But we aren’t the only ones offering thoughts and prayers to Michaels.

Celebrity Apprentice boss Donald Trump said over the weekend: “He’s a great competitor and champion and I hope he will be fine.”

A couple of ex-lovers of Bret’s have also chimed in. First, Jes Rickleff – who won the first season of VH1′s Rock of Love – told E! News: “My thoughts and prayers are with Bret and his family at this time and I pray for a quick and safe recovery.”

Former fiancee Susie Hatton, meanwhile, has spoken to Bret’s father and says doctors are still running tests to determine what caused the hemorrhage.

“He’s a fighter. He’s strong and for the most part, healthy,” Hatton said of the 47-year-old singer, who she dated from1988 to 1993. “I think they’re anticipating a full recovery.”

Let’s hope so. Get better soon, Bret! There are busloads of women in the world that you haven’t slept with yet!

** UPDATE: A new message on Michaels’ website reads:

“At this point Bret remains in ICU in critical condition. He is under 24 hour doctors care and supervision. We are hopeful that further tests will locate the source of the bleeding, which has still not been located. As we all know Bret is a fighter and we are hopeful that once all is complete the slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness, etc., will be eliminated and all functions will return to normal.”

Friend of Ray Charles Defends Steven Seagal, Shoots Down Sexual Harassment Accusations


First a former employee went on record this week with nice things to say about Steven Seagal.

Now, the actor has someone else in his corner: Damien Ross, a former friend of Ray Charles, told TMZ that he set up the initial meeting between Ray’s granddaughter, Blair Robinson, and the actor. It took place in a Memphis hotel in 2004, so Seagal could interview her for a personal assistant position.

Robinson has since accused Seagal of demanding sexual favors from her.

Does Steven Seagal think he’s above the law? Or is the actor being wrongly accused?

Ross says Robinson was never alone with Seagal and never even had a room in the same hotel as the troubled star, which contradicts what Blair wrote in a sworn statement last week.

As for Seagal’s lawyer, Marty Singer, he also questions Robinson’s allegations and motives:

“Ms. Robinson was never employed by Steven Seagal and never received any compensation from any entity even though she claimed to have worked more than six years ago for my client.”

Kate Plus 8 Reloaded: It’s a Go!


Kate Gosselin’s elimination from Dancing with the Stars did not mark the end of her reality TV career. It’s official: TLC is bringing back Kate Plus 8.

It’s a go at the network after the local Department of Labor says the eight children have been cleared to continue their careers as reality TV stars.

This despite the objections of her own brother, Jon Gosselin and millions of us across America who are just plain sick of her. Stick it to ‘em, Kate!

A rep for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry says the correct paperwork for the show was submitted and approved … and said:

“The proper steps have been taken and the kids are permitted for Kate Plus 8.” Thank goodness. And tough luck, Jon. How’s your career going?

KATE PLUS 8: Gosselin and the gang are running it back!

No word if the reloaded Kate Plus 8 will feature Jon in any way, as he was the one who axed the original show for starting to phase him out exploiting the kids.

Our guess is for the right price, he won’t object this time around. Especially if he succeeds in pursuing a rich cougar to bleed money and sexual favors from.

As for Kate’s other TLC spin-off (yes, there are two proposed Kate Gosselin shows in the works), tentatively titled Twist of Kate, no paperwork has been filed.

Without the Department of Labor signing off, you can bet that TLC won’t push its luck. So this may indicate that the children may not be joining her there.

Michelle McGee Works Pole to German Death Metal


Jesse James mistress Michelle “Bombshell” McGee wants people to know she is not a Nazi. The trashy stripper’s music of choice is therefore a bit strange.

Michelle Bombshell may want to rethink her selection of German heavy metal the next time she headlines at Vegas club Deja Vu… if there is a next time.

McGee “performed” to two songs Friday, one of which was “Feuer frei!” by Rammstein. Wikipedia says “The title is from the command to start shooting in German military language, can be compared to ‘fire at will,’ or ‘open fire.’”

The lyrics, in German, translate to “Whoever knows pain is dangerous from the fire that burns the soul / bang bang, the burned child is dangerous / with fire that separates from the life, a hot cry / bang bang open fire!”

Fresh off rumors that an incident in Switzerland left Rihanna hospitalized, she was performing “Let Me” at Le Dome in Marseille, when she slipped and …

Fans gasped at her tumbling to the ground, but the hit-maker brushed off the mishap and carried on singing on her knees, barely missing a beat or note.

Stephanie Pratt Defends Speidi, Role Model Status


Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag have been in the news a lot lately, conducting a personal stress test on the theory that any publicity is good publicity.

Between Heidi Montag’s plastic surgery, Spencer’s Twitter outburst at Audrina Patridge, Kate Hudson and others, his involuntary leave from The Hills, and her sexual harassment the show’s creator, it’s been a whirlwind of bad PR.

But Stephanie Pratt thinks you can still look up to Speidi.

“I think we’ve all grown up,” she said of her co-stars and family members at Thursday’s Hot Hollywood party at Drai’s Hollywood inside the W Hollywood.

“The problem is that anything bad we do is so magnified,” explained younger Pratt. “We all do a pretty good job of being OK role models for everyone.”

To Stephanie Pratt, Speidi still meets role model criteria.

Of the couple’s alleged sexual harassment suit against Adam DiVello, which they later jettisoned, she said, “I really stay out of it. I don’t know what’s going on.”

In January, the younger Pratt had some role model setbacks of her own after she was sentenced to three years of probation following her October 2009 DUI.

Her own physical appearance has also transformed dramatically of late.

“Thank god for being on the show,” she said. “Because it really has helped my style and appearance.” Oh yes, it’s totally been a good thing, absolutely.
