American Idol: A new Paige in her career

With a place on the American Idol summer tour hanging in the balance, Paige Miles found herself in the bottom two last night, alongside fellow contestant Tim Urban. After a lackluster performance of Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds” on Tuesday’s performance show, the bad news was delivered that Paige had been eliminated. It got worse when the judges announced they would not be exercising their option to save her — even before she even had the chance to sing and convince them she was worth it. “That hurt,” Paige tells In Touch. “I was pretty bummed.” Despite struggling with laryngitis and swollen vocal chords for the last three weeks, the 24-year-old Floridian did manage to redeem herself with a roaring rendition of Free’s “All Right Now, “ leaving the competition on a high note. Next week, the top 10 will tackle R&B soul classics with the help of mentor Usher.

Britney Spears’ Mom Moving In?


Yes, they’re still together despite breakup rumors to the contrary.

But for Britney Spears and her agent boyfriend, Jason Trawick, nothing is ever simple. The latest hurdle? The singer’s mom, Lynne, is moving in to her home.

It was a decision was made without Jason’s knowledge.

“He felt like he had absolutely no say,” says a source close to Jason Trawick. “But he let it slide because Brit’s mood improves by leaps and bounds when her mom is around, and besides, Lynne helps defusing fights between Brit and her dad.”

Run for it, J. While there’s still time.

Jesse James’ Top-Ranked Lover: Sandra Bullock!


Sure, he likely cheated on her with Michelle McGee … and Melissa Smith … and Brigitte Daguerre. But Jesse James said Sandra Bullock is the best in bed!

That quote is sure to be comforting to her right now.

Nearly a year ago, around the same time tattoo model Michelle McGee alleges a torrid affair with Jesse James, he gushed about his wife to Howard Stern.

Asked if Bullock was the “best lover” of his life, James replied, “Absolutely, hands down.” Wow, that hurts, Melissa Smith. Two years of practice for nothing!

In the same interview, James noted that when he and Bullock began dating in late 2003, her friends all told her “this is no good.” Shoulda listened, girl …

Continuing his praise for Sandra and for their marriage, James said “two people that kind of have perceived success in their fields; we both are strong.”

“I think when it’s lopsided, then you’re going to be sweating all the details.”

Sounds like the cheating was pretty lopsided, though, as were white supremacist photo shoots. At least according to what we know of Nazi Michelle McGee.

Out & About


Molly Sims and four girlfriends had a ball while dining at Primehouse New York on March 22. The ladies’ night out started with red wine and a shellfish castle; then they all had dry-aged filet mignon and shared sides like lobster mashed potatoes and mushroom and arugula salad. There was a lot of laughing, and they finished the night with chocolate cake and homemade doughnuts.

Sri Lanka to Akon: Smack Dat Sexy Chick Elsewhere!


Akon has postponed an April concert in Sri Lanka after the nation’s government said it planned to deny his visa this week. The problem? A certain “Sexy Chick.”

Specifically, a sexy chick who’s feverishly shakin’ dat booty all up in a Buddha statue’s grill in the song of that name by David Guetta featuring Akon. Obviously.

More than 200 protestors in the city of Colombo threw rocks at the offices of Capital Maharaja, Akon’s concert promoters, angrily reacting to the video Monday.

The mob – some carrying signs that read “Stop Akon Now!!” – broke windows and hit cars parked near the building. Four employees were reportedly injured.

“Sexy Chick,” the hit song Akon recorded for Dave Guetta’s One Love album, shows babes dancing all suggestively in front of this Buddha statue by a pool:

Images like the screen cap above have “triggered a lot of disappointment among Buddhists all over the world,” a Sri Lankan government spokesman said.

Online debate heated up as well. The “We Hate Akon” page on Facebook has more than 12,000 members. That’s both hilarious and sad at the same time.

“I was not aware that the statue was even on the set of the video until now,” Akon said. “I would never desecrate anyone’s religion or religious beliefs.”

More than 60 percent of Sri Lanka’s population is Buddhist, and “I myself am a spiritual man, so I can understand why they are offended,” Akon added.

“But violence is never the answer and I am disheartened.”

Soulja Boy Starts, Wins Twitter Beef with Chris Brown


For whatever reason, Chris Brown and social media seem to breed hostility. Dude peaced out of Twitter last year after accusing Wal Mart of blackballing him.

He’s since returned, but not without another minor flare-up. For some reason, he and Soulja Boy exchanged misspelled, sub-140 character barbs this week.

Boasting two-plus million followers, Soulja Boy wrote: “#ListenBitch add @ChrisBrown & @BowWow followers together u still aint half way f**kin wit me lol”

Snap.

Not one to let a little friendly competition slide without taking the gloves off and trying to kick some a$$, Chris Brown replied “@souljaboytellem yall funny… lol.”

But then he continued:

Random Twitter feuds are the best.

“@souljaboytellem and @bowwow what yall make in a show i make for an hour at an afterparty… jus sayin.” Wait, who dragged poor Bow Wow into this?!

Soulja Boy then retaliated (and included Bow Wow once again) seemingly getting the last words: “#ListenBitch if my last tweet offended you then I won.”

The Tweeting gauntlet was then thrown down: “lol @bowwow there you go. f**k bank accounts. f**k followers. let’s see who new album sell the most 1st week.”

That sound you hear is of IT BEING ON.

Soulja Boy has a new album out in July called The DeAndre Way, while Bow Wow has not yet set a release date for his latest effort. And as for Chris Brown?

He’s begging fans to stay relevant. That says a lot.

The Biggest Loser: What you didn’t see!


Stephanie Anderson started this season of The Biggest Loser with her mom, Patti, but the Purple Team was split up in week two when Patti was eliminated. This week, the contestants spent a week at home, so we decided to check in with Patti on her daughter’s progress. “I’m so proud of her,” Patti tells In Touch. “She stayed true to her original intent, which was to do what she needed to succeed without sabotaging anyone else, and her integrity and character really comes through.”

Key Ben Roethlisberger Security Tape Vanishes


Did Big Ben just evade a key legal tackle?

Security camera footage from the night Pittsburgh Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger is accused of sexually assaulting a Georgia college girl is mysteriously gone.

The disappearance of security footage at Capital City nightclub was reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, which claims parts of the tape have been erased.

A lawyer for the club produced this explanation: “The DVD system overwrote itself … Had it just been deleted, they might have been able to save some of it.”

That contradicts what owner Rocky Duncan said in the wake of the alleged incident, not only claiming he had video, but describing the footage in great detail.

Duncan said that footage showed the 20-year-old Ben Roethlisberger accuser hanging out before the alleged incident and police speaking with Ben afterward.

Duncan was quick to point out, however, that the video did not show Ben and his accuser going towards the bathroom where the alleged incident took place.

The lawyer for the club later said cops watched the video with Rocky “shortly” after the alleged incident, but they did not take the video with them at that time.

When police returned to collect the tape at a later point, that’s when they noticed the footage had been erased. This whole thing is as confusing as it is shady.

No charges have been filed against Ben in this case or the previous one in which he was accused of sexually assaulting a Nevada woman, Andrea McNulty.
