Lil Wayne is behind bars

March 9, 2010

After two delays in the past month, Lil Wayne finally began serving the one-year jail sentence stemming from his infamous 2007 arrest for gun possession. The rapper, who pleaded guilty in October in exchange for a lighter sentence, entered New York’s Rikers Island on March 9. “I just say I’m looking forward to it,” Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., recently said of his future behind bars. With his sentencing postponed twice, once for necessary dental work and again after a fire in the Manhattan courthouse, the star celebrated his prolonged freedom by performing with Jay-Z in NYC’s Madison Square Garden on March 2. “We’re with you 100 percent,” Jay-Z told Lil Wayne in front of a cheering audience. The troubled rapper could be released in just eight months with good behavior.

Alexander Skarsgard: A (Hot!) Milennium Man

Alexander Skarsgard is featured in the latest issue of LA Times Magazine.

The publication has dubbed this True Blood cast member as its “Milennium Man” and we’ll go right ahead and speak for our female readers by saying to it: Thank you.

Below, we’ve posted a few excerpts from the actor’s interview with the magazine, as well as a few photos of him. Enjoy!

On playing a vampire: What makes vampires a platform for good drama is they’re also lethal. Eric is an animal. He’s on that edge where you don’t know if he will turn and kill you in a second.

On being an outsider: I’m not a “Hollywood” actor. I am a social guy, but I’m not one of those actors who will show up to a shoot with 15 agents and managers and publicists. An entourage like that just makes me uncomfortable.

On handling fame: In order for me to stay sane, I try to mostly stay away from the fan sites, the blogs and the Twitterers.

Spotted: Tiger and Elin Woods Kissing!

Mother of God. We knew the ice had been thawing between Tiger Woods and his wife Elin, but weren’t prepared for a report of them – gasp! – kissing this week.

What’s next? Her letting him get to second base?

Tiger and Elin Woods were spotted smooching Monday for the first time in months, according to a “close source” Radar Online may have invented for all we know.

“They were hugging and they were kissing right out in the open,” an eyewitness told the site. “Elin is certainly a lot more relaxed these days and so is Tiger.”

Good to hear. “People in the neighborhood are getting used to seeing them together again,” the source adds. So does this mean it’s all water under the bridge?

OUT OF THE WOODS: It looks like Tiger finally is.

Time will tell. But they were arm-in-arm before the once-estranged spouses hugged and kissed openly. “They’ve come a long, long way,” the source said.

“There was a time when she wouldn’t even look at him.”

Elin agreed to move back home with Tiger at some point in the past week. She has not actually moved in yet as of now, although she is still planning to.

The Swedish stunner rented a house about a mile away from their home. And while she is still sleeping there, she and Tiger are spending time together.

That’s been the routine, at least in the short term, as he tries to win her back after undergoing rehab. For now, it looks like the couple’s divorce is off.

“Elin has not wanted to give up on the marriage,” says the source. “Plus, she still is in love with him, and always has been, after everything he’s done.”

Ex-Wife of Casey James: Music is Singer’s Life

Kellie James has bad news for Kara DioGuardi:

No matter how much you fawn over Casey James, it won’t go anywhere.

“Music is everything to Casey,” said Kellie, the woman that was married to him from 2005 to 2008. “He just does what he loves to do, which is music, but he’s never thought of himself as a heartthrob. Frankly, I think it embarrasses him.”

So far, James has handled the inappropriate Kara crush very well each week on American Idol. It’s a joke the show should really stop referring to over and over.

Casey

In her interview with The National Enquirer, Kellie also details the motorcycle accident that left Casey with a fractured left wrist and right femur. He was in a wheelchair for six months as a result of it.

“The doctors told us that they didn’t know whether Casey would be able to use his hand again, much less play the guitar,” said Kellie. “When he was finally able to play again, Casey felt he had a new lease on life.”

It’s a lease that has paid off very well through the early rounds of Idol. Casey is considered the male favorite on season nine.

Ben Roethlisberger Accuser: 20-Year-Old Student

The Ben Roethlisberger sexual assault accuser is a 20-year-old college student who claims that the NFL star assaulted her in a bathroom of a Georgia nightclub.

Police are withholding her identity, as is customary with sexually based offenses (or allegations thereof). The incident took place at a club called “Capital City.”

Officials have interviewed both the Ben Roethlisberger accuser and the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback since that night but no charges have been filed … yet.

“He was initially interviewed by our officers. We had a situation where we weren’t able to get hold of everybody at the same time,” a police spokesman said. “He was released with his party and then we took care of our victim who was at the hospital.”

Roethlisberger has retained prominent Atlanta criminal lawyer Edward T.M. Garland, who also defended Ray Lewis, to represent him in the sexual assault case.

Super Bowl Champ

If nothing else, Ben Roethlisberger is guilty of poor judgment.

In brief remarks to the media yesterday, Garland said simply that “no sexual assault took place” and that the facts of the case support that, plain and simple.

“The facts show that there was no criminal activity. No sexual assault occurred,” the attorney said, emphasizing that “Ben is completely innocent of any crime.”

Between this girl and Andrea McNulty, Ben now has as many sexual assault accusers as Super Bowl rings. Yes, disclaimers are needed, as he was never charged in the McNulty case either, and these charges might be totally groundless.

However, does anyone remember the Duke lacrosse team? When you’re a celebrity and public figure, that provides one many perks, but also requires restraint.

We’re not saying Ben assaulted anyone. We’re saying he’s kind of an idiot, though, for not exercising better judgment. Crashing college bars, dude? Seriously?

Behaving with reckless abandon, no matter your intent, is bound to land you in trouble when you’re a rich, powerful and physically huge individual. Think about it.

Sean Hayes: Yes, I’m Gay

For years, Sean Hayes portrayed the character of Jack on the sitcom Will & Grace, a hilarious, over-the-top, eccentric gay man.

And, for years, it was an open secret in Hollywood that the actor himself was also gay.

But Hayes never spoke on the issue, actually earning the wrath of The Advocate because the publication felt he was obligated to step up and own his sexuality.

Now, the Emmy Award winner has sat down with that same magazine and come out of the closet. Well, sort of. He doesn’t see it that way.

“I am who I am. I was never in, as they say,” Hayes tells The Advocate in its latest issue.

Sean Hayes on The Advocate

It’s true: Hayes never paraded around any red carpets with a woman by his side. He never lied about his sexual orientation. He simply took the novel approach that it’s no one’s business who he sleeps with.

There were also professional reasons behind his silence. Hayes says:

“When I play a gay character I want to be as believable as possible. And when I’m playing a straight character I also want to be as believable as possible. So the less that people know about my personal life, the more believable I can be as a character.”

Makes perfect sense to us.

However, some morons (e.g. Perez Hilton) place pressure on famous gay people (such as Adam Lambert and Neil Patrick Harris) to come out as soon as possible and to base everything around their sexuality. To this, Hayes responds:

“Nobody owes anything to anybody. You are your authentic self to whom and when you choose to be, and if you don’t know somebody, then why would you explain to them how you live your life?”

Sean Hayes might be our new favorite celebrity.

Zac Efron on Robert Pattinson: He’s Amazing

This is no fun.

When asked about fellow young hottie Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron didn’t attack the Twilight Saga star or begin a feud that would have the Internet buzzing. Instead, he simply showered Robert with praise.

“He’s absolutely amazing,” Efron told Access Hollywood on the red carpet of the Academy Awards. “I think he’s making great choices. I think he’s handling it all really well, but you know, he’s a superstar. He really deserves all this.”

A GoofballOur Favorite Zac

Come on, Zac. You can’t insult Rob’s new hairstyle at least?

Fine. We’ll have to start a rivalry between these two studs ourselves. Study each one above and then answer the all-important question:

Who would you rather?

Keith Olbermann Continues to Slam Bill Simmons

Man, how low must the ratings of MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann have fallen?!?

After all, we can only imagine the host’s random, personal attacks against ESPN.com columnist Bill Simmons stem from a need to garner attention. You can get caught up on the feud HERE, but in a nutshell:

Simmons wrote an article in which he said the upcoming Tiger Woods comeback would be more challenging than the boxing return of Muhammad Ali in the early 1970s, which was a result of the latter’s stance on the Vietnam war.

It was a controversial stance, one clearly meant to elicit opinion and feedback. That’s often a columnist’s job. But Olbermann didn’t attack the content of the argument, he attacked Simmons himself.

At first, the MSNBC anchor wrote that Simmons had no “discernible insight or talent.” To this insult, Bill Tweeted that Olbermann is “a pious, unlikable blowhard who lives alone.” He has since taken the high road, Tweeting again last night: I’ve said enough. This was not why I got into writing.

But Olbermann, for whatever reason, is just getting started.

Angry Olbermann

In a new online rant, Olbermann writes: “Anybody who could write as many words without saying anything of consequence really should throw around the word “blowhard” as frequently as he would a street sewer cover.”

Olbermann also claims he’s received emails from those high up at ESPN “thanking me for pointing out the absurdity of, and the embarrassment to ESPN provided by, the Woods/Ali comparison.”

He then implies that Simmons is the most “uncontrollable, unmanageable talent” in the history of ESPN and that any comment defending The Sports Guy on Olbermann’s blog must be written by Simmons himself “under various identities.”

It’s hard to even know where to begin in response to Olbermann’s utter nonsense:

  • First, feel free to dislike the niche Simmons has created. But he’s the most read online columnist alive. His most recent book was number-one on The New York Times Bestsellers List. To claim that any defense of Simmons can only be penned by the man himself is laughable. He’s hugely popular, Keith. That’s just a fact. Live with it.
  • In this feud Olbermann has concocted, he’s written about 500 words. Simmons has written about 12.
  • The latest rant comes immediately after a section of his blog in which Olbermann discusses his gravely ill father. That’s… strange.
  • Is Olbermann really accusing someone else of making it big without saying anything of consequence?!? His entire schtick is based around word play, passion and extreme, unsubstantiated points of view.
  • As for the content of Simmons’ article, Olbermann continues to miss the point: No one is placing Tiger and Ali’s reasons for exile on the same level; Simmons is focusing on the difficulty each faced upon their return, relative to the public sentiment at the time.
  • IF YOU DON’T LIKE BILL SIMMONS, DON’T READ HIM.

Sorry, we got carried away with that last point. But Olbermann is entitled to his opinion. Still, that doesn’t explain his public, petty, unprofessional response.

Actually, maybe it does: Olbermann is simply petty and unprofessional.

Alleged Rozlyn Papa Sex Tape Surfaces

The Bachelor hopeful Rozlyn Papa got pimp-slapped by Chris Harrison on the “Women Tell All” reunion special for her alleged affair with one of the show’s producers.

Looks like she gets slapped in a very different way in her free time. The alleged Rozlyn Papa sex tape, which we told you about last month, has found its way online.

The short tape, which has been posted by Pornhub.com, features a woman certainly resembling the 28-year-old model “performing a sex act on a sizable gentleman.”

Well, that rules out that it’s Jake Pavelka on the receiving end … right? Up top!

Of course, The Bachelor finale also ended with someone on their knees … eh?

Jake Pavelka and Rozlyn Papa

Didn’t I see you on Pornhub.com?

Rozlyn’s rep previously said she has “no knowledge of any tape.” But can anyone take what Rozlyn says at face value? More importantly, does anyone care anymore?

Now a Vienna Girardi sex tape, that would be a different story. You know there’s one out there, and Us Weekly is waiting to release it at just the right moment.

Give it time. Give. It. Time.

Levi Johnston Pays Up, is Far From Pleased

Levi Johnston has finally coughed up the full back child support payments he owes to his baby mama and former fake fiancee, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it.

The aspiring actor and Playgirl model wrote Bristol Palin a check for $21,561.12 – the full amount that an Alaska judge ordered Levi to pay – and it actually cleared.

Levi is still ordered to pay $1,750 a month in child support payments, which he’s not happy about, and is also on the hook for an additional $3,500 in back support.

The 19-year-old will try to comply with the judge’s order, he’s not happy about having to pay so much, his lawyer Rex Butler said, arguing that the sum is just unfair.

Levi Johnston, Kathy Griffin

Levi Johnston is teaming up with Kathy Griffin to pay the bills.

“Levi promptly paid the full amount that the court ordered … he does not agree with the amount and will seek reconsideration of the court’s order,” Butler said Monday.

“If he prevails, he will receive a credit … he will obviously work hard to generate the income, but he’d rather pay and fight than be in contempt of the court’s order.”

Levi is already working to try and pay what he owes, no matter what it takes. He recently shot an episode of Kathy Griffin’s TV show My Life On The D List in Alaska.

He’s also rumored for a role on Desperate Housewives in the near future. Hopefully that works out … we can see him as a teenage hunk who knocks someone up.
