“I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world,” Melissa tells In Touch about married life.
Melissa Rycroft wed Tye Strickland on the beach in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, on December 12, and everything was perfect — but because of their hectic schedules, they didn’t have any time for a honeymoon. So two months later, the newlyweds went back to Mexico for a Valentine’s Day getaway at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, near Puerta Vallarta. “We appreciate the trip more since we had time between the wedding and the honeymoon,” Melissa tells In Touch, as she and Tye exclusively share the details of their romantic weekend. “It has been absolutely perfect from the location to the hotel to the people to the ocean to the sunset,” she adds. “I don’t think we could have asked for anything more.” As it turns out, the same goes for marriage: “I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world, Melissa tells In Touch. “It’s the greatest thing ever, Tye adds. “You get to share everything and know that no matter what, they are always going to stand by your side. I’ve learned to appreciate her more.” As for starting a family, the newlyweds will be waiting. “We have a lot going on right now,” says Melissa. “Tye just opened his business, and work is going pretty well for me. I think we want to be selfish for as long as possible and just have the two of us until we hit the point where we are 100 percent ready. Right now, we’re on the three-to-five-year plan.”
