Former Bachelor star Matt Grant, who starred on the show’s 12th season and got engaged to Shayne Lamas for like 12 seconds, has a new show in the works.

Its name? Pimp My Bride! Sadly, we are serious.

“[It's] an organic follow-up to The Bachelor,” the British financier said, adding that he first conceptualized the series after finishing filming The Bachelor back in 2008. “It’s bascially about the groom being in control of the wedding.”

No couple from The Bachelor has ever had a wedding, of course (minor details) but maybe Jake Pavelka can pimp Vienna Girardi on the series premiere!

In addition to producing Pimp My Bride, Grant, whose engagement to Shayne Lamas was quite short-lived is also considering taking part of another new show.

“They’ve asked me to possibly do the Bachelor Pad show,” he said. “It’s like Big Brother Bachelor with all the Bachelors in a house. I’ve thought about doing it because I’m obviously not famous anymore and it would give me 15 minutes!”

Well, at least he’s up front about that. Gotta give him credit there.

Some creature got into Jessica Simpson’s bed over the weekend.

No, it wasn’t John Mayer, Tony Romo or Billy Corgan. It was just a dog named Sammy. We have no idea why we’re writing about this.

“Sammy and I are falling asleep,” the alleged singer Twittered.

“Sweet snuggle companion.”

Former star Jessica Simpson pretends to be asleep as she takes a picture, later posted on Twitter, of herself snuggling in bed with a cute, likely displeased pooch.

Last September, Simpson’s beloved maltipoo Daisy – a gift from ex Nick Lachey – was snatched by a coyote in L.A. Her poor little companion was never found.

Apparently subscribing to the Kim Kardashian school of Twittering and sharing with us her every mundane move, Jessica took the time to elaborate on this.

“Sammy and I are falling asleep. Sweet snuggle companion,” she wrote. “Thx so much Jeannia and Evan for letting me have her for the night ”

Daisy is still the only one in her heart, though: “Sammy isn’t my new pup. I borrowed her for the night from my friends ”

Jersey Shore’s Sammi Giancola and Ronnie Magro got together early in the show’s inaugural season. The pair proceeded to fight and break up a lot.

The live reunion after the Jersey Shore season finale was no exception. Ronnie and Sammi got into a big fight and swore this split was for real, too.

Not so much – they’re back on!

Ronnie Magro became enraged after viewing never-before-seen footage of Sammi in bed, having a heart-to-heart, with The Situation on the reunion.

But co-star Snooki (a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi) says it only lasted a day: “They got back together two hours later. You never know with them,” Snooks sez.

Ronnie and Sammi from Jersey Shore sure keep it interesting.

Despite fighting and breaking up around the clock, and Ronnie’s propensity for kicking people’s asses on the boardwalk, Sammi and he seem perfect together.

She’s proclaimed herself the sweetest bitch you will ever meet, and he’s clearly a juiced-up hothead with a heart of gold … mostly. A match made in heaven.

Or at least Seaside Heights.

As for their co-star, Nicole Polizzi says her own love life is picking up these days, as some blogs have linked her to an unlucky, tan “guido” named Emilio.

Asked about the rumored romance, she said: “What the hell? How does that get out so fast? He’s just a friend. We’re hanging out but nothing serious.”

Still, she can’t help but add, “He’s my guido. He’s my type.”

It was a busy day of cheering on the New Orleans Saints, Tweeting and self-promoting yesterday for Kim Kardashian.

The large-breasted former sex tape star attended the NFC Championship with friends, family and a homemade sign (below) for boyfriend Reggie Bush.

Unlike Kim, Reggie actually accomplished something in his chosen profession, scoring a go-ahead fourth quarter touchdown on a five-yard pass to Drew Brees. The Saints defeated the Vikings 31-28 and will take on the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

This will give Kardashian more opportunities to offer Bush support via Twitter, while also telling fans to watch her reality show. A few sample Tweets from Sunday:

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford is known for his good looks, story lines in which he sleeps with anything that moves, and brooding silently a lot on the CW drama.

He’ll be taking on a much different role Sunday on Family Guy.

The 24-year-old’s sexy voice will be used for Luke, Meg’s jailbird boyfriend who she helps bust out of jail and naturally then attempts to hide at the Griffins’ home.

Standard.

Unfortunately, the cops bust Meg and she gets jailed herself. Chace Crawford may not be playing himself, but he did bring his Gossip Girl man-bangs and stubble …

Attention, Brett Favre: there’s another famous sports figure that had a much worse Sunday night than you.

Salvador Cabanas, a soccer star in his native Paraguay that plays for CF America Mexico, was shot in the heat during a bar fight in Mexico City. He’s battling for his life in intensive care.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident, as reports indicate an attempted robbery was underway when Cabanas intervened.

The forward, who has 18 goals in 24 matches this season, had been in the news recently for on-field reasons: there were rumors that English Premiere Club Sunderland was interested in acquiring him. Said team manager, Steve Bruce:

“Cabanas is a fantastic player, whether it’s possible, I’m not quite sure. He’s somebody who would be of interest, but I’m sure if he became available, there’d be lots more interest, too.”

Sadly, Cabanas now has other things to worry about. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Almost 16 years to the day she was attacked by the ex-husband of her main Olympic rival, an even bigger tragedy has befallen Nancy Kerrigan.

The 70-year old father of this former figure skater was found dead at his Boston home yesterday – and Kerrigan’s brother was arrested in connection with the incident.

As first reported by MyFoxBoston.com, emergency respondents found Daniel Kerrigan unresponsive when they arrived at his residence yesterday. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Meanwhile, sources say there was a struggle between Daniel and Mark Kerrigan in the kitchen; while details of the confrontation are unknown at this time, Mark was arrested and charged with assault and battery on an elder with serious bodily injury.

He’s scheduled to appear in court today.

Nancy lives approximately 10 minutes from her father’s home. Our thoughts are with her and we’ll keep readers apprised of this situation as news breaks.

** UPDATE: Nancy’s mother to The Boston Herald: “My husband had a massive heart attack. This is a very difficult time for me.”

According to the police report, Mark and Daniel Kerrigan were screaming at each other, with Mark’s hands allegedly around his father’s throat, when Daniel fell to the ground.

After Larry Platt serenaded American Idol viewers with “Pants on the Ground” earlier this month, Simon Cowell said he feared the song would become a major hit.

The judge was right, partly because Fox has marketed it that way – but also because professional football stars have taken an unusual liking to the single.

Following his team’s Divisional Round playoff victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre led a team celebration by reciting the tune.

More recently, Carolina running back DeAngelo Williams posted a video of his “Pants on the Ground” remix. Check it out below:

Meanwhile, Platt himself actually showed up at a Vikings’ team meeting over the weekend.

His performance drew raucous cheers and laughter, though it would also serve as a harbinger for what came next: Minnesota lost to New Orleans yesterday in the NFC Championship Game, as Favre ended the season by figuratively dropping his pants on national TV.

His regulation-ending interception cost the Vikings a spot in the Super Bowl.
